Hi, today I’m doing medium cargo missions with the caravan.
But I was thinking to purchase a big airplane to fly faster, like PC12/24.
If I change the airplane, the missions will be short in a way I can land this planes? Or I will need to manually choose?
Because today I observe that a lot of tracks I land the caravan, would be impossible to land the PC24.
Regarding the payment, it remains the same so far I heard, right? (which make no sense)
Thank you.
Get the PC-12 and ditch the Caravan. It flies way better and can land on very short strips.

I’m struggling with the caravan, I know I’m not an expert, but it’s difficult for me land this plane. I did not got exactly the proper way of propeller pitch / engine, this could be one of the reasons. But even when I arrive with a good speed, the landing is always almost a disaster.
I will try the PC-12 soon as I get money.
The missions, airport will be the same or will be filter something?

The caravan ground physics are terrible!! I have multiple crashes too.
The workaround is to not use brakes and instead do FULL reverse throttle after landing at about 70-60kts. Using the brakes create an uncontrollable side to side wobble.
Also the faintest crosswinds flop the plane over once it’s moving. feels very wrong, full aileron towards wind until the wheels leave the ground.

Medium cargo is medium cargo no need to filter anything. The physics seem to be really screwed up on the Caravan. In the slightest of winds, it is near uncontrollable.
yes, Im very disappointed with it.
But I think is the easiest way to make money now to pick a better plane.

And the wobbling while using the autopilot for the ILS approach or any other, it’s also a bug on the caravan?
The airplane keep swinging from one side to the other.
Haven’t flown the PC-12 much but heres my post from another similar thread about the Caravan vs SkyCourier
From my experience with med cargo missions (Caravan and SkyCourier) the payouts seem to favor the larger SkyCourier. Caravan was making about 800-1.0mil per mission, the sky courier is about 900-1.2mil depending on the listed pay amount for the mission. This also depends on your Reputation bonuses as well. I fly the SkyCourier, its faster, flies higher and farther while burning a reasonable amount of fuel for its size and speed.
I upgraded from the caravan to avoid its autopilot hunting issue in cruise. love the caravan in general or hand flying, but all the med cargo missions are hours long and like 500ish miles, not great for hand flying at 175KTAS. The SkyCourier doesn’t have the autopilot issue and cruises at 235KTAS at FL230 burning 100lb/hr more than the caravan cruising at 12,000ft
the right plane for the mission between those two is whichever is closer. since I have the caravan on crew mode I only fly the SkyCourier

It’s not necessarily a bug but just unfinished AP tuning. It’s been logged since day 1. Not a huge issue for me personally.
this issue with the autopilot is also happening with PC12?

The PC-12 and PC-24 have similar length distance requirement, right?
At least according to google, 758 vs 893m.
Would not be better to same 800k more and take the PC24 because of the speed and a little bit more range?
For cargo missions.
I have been flying the PC24 solely for Cargo mission, but many missions want you to take off and land at extremely short runways/landing strips causing mission failures when you over run.
Once the take runway was from a proper airport but it made me land on a tiny airstrip atop a moountain, i managed to land at very low speed and stop, But every time i do that to get around the runway lenth I damange the landing gear leaving it INOP.
I think the skycourier might be a better choice. I am buying it now and trying it.

PC-12 is excellent for short runways.

Yes, I know my skills, even with the vssion jet i prefer to chosse landing runway with 1200x25m minimum
Sky courrier is some millions far from them.
So, I will start with the pc12 and see how will be the missions landing airports.
1200 will be seriously pushing the envelope.
With the vision jet like I said?
Its supposed to land in 500m.
I need my 1200m to land safe without too much workload.
I assume if PC request around 800m I will aim for missions with landing of 2000m in the beginning.
1200M That is long you are way good…I was thinking 1200 feet (overlooked the M). You can do around 500M with the PC-12.
I just bought the Sky Courier after flying the PC-12 for a while. I would assume the Sky Courier could carry a lot more cargo than a PC-12, and thus earn better, but I am not seeing any missions available that are larger than what I can carry with the PC-12.
The PC-12 is a good bit faster, even flying under 20,000 due to the pressurization bug. I also enjoy learning the Honeywell FMS. So many airplanes have the Garmin units - it’s fun to have a challenge with a new FMS. The Honeywell provides top of descent info and the VNAV works well. I am glad I kept the PC-12. I suspect I’ll go back to it and wait until there are missions for the Sky Courier.
Medium cargo is medium cargo. Any plane available for medium cargo flights can freelance a medium cargo job. Missions will all pay the same regardless of plane used.
