Cessna 172 Skyhawk

Having trouble with climb out - full power but plane descends and can’t get it back, no flare on landings either. It’s almost like a stall but not recoverable. Power setting is full and fuel mixture is rich. It is only this plane (I tried other prop planes no issue so not my joystick either)
It’s like the input to climb won’t work (thus no flare). Any suggestions would be helpful.

I believe there are several threads about this issue already, but check that you’re running with the “Modern” flight model.

I had to lean the mixture a bit to get more power. Also in lower regions. This is an uncorrect simulation, but it helped.

That’s the altitude of the airport you’re trying to take off from? If it’s at a high altitude, you may have to lean the mixture in order to get enough power to climb out.

I think that did the trick … thanks

Thanks for the suggestion but likely not the issue… flying out of Hamilton Canada… not too much above sea level … I think it was the Modern setting issue

I would check that Modern setting… seemed to do the trick…

Yeah, that’s only a couple of hundred feet above MSL. Leaning shouldn’t be required to take off there. There have been several posts like this over the last couple of months with people taking off from places at like 6000 ft above MSL and wondering why they couldn’t get their planes to climb. Without knowing where you were coming from, it sounded like this could have been the issue for you as well.
