While the older C172 models are the most popular - we lack them in the SIM. For many I guess the reason to buy the delux version what the steam gauge C172… With high probability those also fly Cessnas that still got the carb system.
Any chance this will be modeled?

I prefer the C172 - that the plane I fly IRL. Thing is that I’m sure I’m not alone… There’s a huge portion of private pilot who fly C172 not from the latest generations and use carb heat…
True, you’re not the only one; I also only bought the Deluxe version because of the Cessna 172 Classic, which is what I fly the most.
I haven’t started the career mode yet, but I have the feeling that we won’t be able to purchase the 172 Classic.
There’s this addon that seemed quite realistic in 2020; I haven’t tried it yet in 2024:

I’m also part of the club 
Mostly fly 172 but not SP and with Carburator. No alternative exist. The best we can to improve our immersive experience is using the WB-Sim payware mod (for now, it requires you have acquired the C172 Classic from MSFS2020 to have access to uncrypted version)
