CH Pro Rudder Pedals Driver issue

Just transferred my CH Pro Rudder pedals from an older Win 10 PC to a brand new Win 11 PC.
When I plug in PC is showing Driver error and MSFS doesnt see the pedals at all in Control Options. They worked fine on older win 10 pc.
I only have DVD disc software but not sure if this loads a driver or not or if the pedals need a driver. PC device manager says Driver error.Cant find any driver downloads for these pedals.
Would anyone know if a driver can be repaired or any other suggestions ?
Thankyou for any assistance.

The CH Pedals that I have use “chdrvr02.sys”. On my system it is located in C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\chdrvr02.sys. I would search to see if that .sys file is on your system. When I look in Device Manager at CH Products, CH Pro Pedals USB, it shows as file version 11.08.2011.

At the CH Products link (Pro Pedals) it states: "

  • Plug and Play driverless USB installation for both PC and Macintosh
  • Compatible with Windows 98, 2000, XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10 and Mac OSX".

Ok, it doesn’t include Windows 11, but I am using the latest version of Windows 11 and it works.

I remember having a bit of a challenge to get the pedals and yoke working four years ago, however. I think I had to manually add a profile for each of the two CH Products devices I have.

This post might be of help. Maybe this one, too.

Mine worked in default Windows with no drivers in Win10. Only proviso was NOT calibrate them in Windows as if you calibrate them the brake pedals become unusable.

No idea about Win11, we refuse to install it at work.

Thankyou very much to both of you for going to the trouble of providing this information.
Ill look at what you’ve said and the drivers/ files concerned.
Some of what youve said rings a bell from years ago as ive had them quite a while.

Pretty sure I am running W11 …and mine worked ok with no tweeking necessary that I recall!
Ref calibrating in Windows, did that with no issues …the only thing you need to do is place a thickish book under the pedals (30mm or so …but trial and error will get there!) to bias the null position so that you have a definite ‘no brake applied’ postion once calibrated and the pedals are allowed to the normal stop postion …hope that makes sense!

If you havent got your rudder pedals working i have a solution. Do you have a joystick with a twist function for rudders? If so you can disassemble your flight stick and get to the twist potentiometer. Pretty sure you can just remove it. Splice extension wires to the potentiometer wires to your rudder pedal potentiometer. With this method you can make rudder pedals out of sticks and use them with any flightstick. Im using Playstation 4 G29 racing pedals (clutch, brake, throttle) on xbox series x. I need to figure out how to connect the brake. How to turn a button into a potentiometer.

Thanks for advice

Thanks for suggestion.

Bizarrely i have got them working by erasing all CH drivers and Ch software (Control Manager). The pedals then work in MSFS after plugging in the USB. I did have 2 versions of the CM loaded - 4.2 and 4.55- at one point so its possible their installaton was screwed up. If anyone has a problem using CH Pro Rudder pedals it wouod be worth trying first without the CH software before loading anything up.
Anyway, thankyou to all for helping as the advice prompted me to look at the drivers and device manager contents.

the CH Pedals can be finicky (as you are seeing) but no drivers or software is required (in Windows 10 or 11).

The best way I’ve found to get them “reset” is to have MSFS running, unplug them and plug them back in.

A message will pop up stating new hardware found, do you want to use default or copy config.

Select use default and they “reset”.

Failing that you can click on “Start” type “Calibrat” and you’ll see an option pop up for game controller calibration, go in there and re-set them.

Ok thanks for advice

Just for general info CH Products sent me this pasted below

""Please note all of our USB products are plug and play devices, just like a keyboard. Once you plug it in, Windows will automatically recognize it.

Did you install the optional legacy Control Manager software? Please note this program is not needed to use our products.“”
