City Lights Not Coming On Until After Dark

hey so I just noticed that none of the city lights come on until it’s pitch dark out. I’m flying on the west coast in winter and the sun is just about set, and there isn’t a single light on a house or road. It looks post-apocalyptic.

I manually changed the time to pitch dark and then the lights slowly fade on. However that’s not how lights work in the real world, they come on when the ambient light gets low, not waiting until it’s pitch black.

Anyone else notice this too? It makes flying at dusk not very fun as a big part of flying then is having a big city’s lights begin illuminating.

Not what I’m seeing - this is France - from Manston to Lille. Note it’s near or just about sunset and you can see the lights are already on below.

Running any addons?
The minute the sun sets off and my skies give a slight hint of dark pink all of my environment lights are on. Never had this issue with default MSFS or addons.

strange, i wonder if it’s just on my end. i’ll experiment more

You’re a Bijan Mask user, aren’t you? Maybe temporarily disable that and see what happens.

thats funny i JUST installed bijan masks after spending some time asking him questions about how it works. ill disable

hi - i dont have Bijan. If its the middle of the day and you have heavy black clouds - I dont see city lights.
The point is - city lights come on in bad weather - it would be nice if the lights came on based on the light levels - not just the time of day.
