Clarification about Marketplace purchase transfers

I’ve seen a lot of old posts stating that Marketplace content purchased in the Microsoft Store version of 2020 won’t transfer to the Steam version of 2020. However, the airports, liveries, scenery, and utility purchases I made did transfer (e.g., Better Nameplate or Cockpit Flashlight). When I look in the Marketplace at a plane I purchased on the other platform (e.g., Kodiak 100 or ATR), I see the message “This content is already installed on your disk, purchase it to access it”. So is it really just planes don’t transfer and I’m out of luck, even though they do seem to transfer to 2024 cross-platform, per other posts in this forum? Or am I missing something obvious?

Thanks for helping to clarify this confusing issue.

Hi @xboxuser163,

Firstly a warm welcome to the MSFS Forums!

If you made a purchase via the MSFS (2020) Marketplace on Microsoft Store, these items would not be available if you then logged in with the same Xbox Gamertag via another licensed copy of MSFS (2020) purchased via Steam or vice versa.

This system changed with the release of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, whereby your purchases made in the MSFS (2020) Marketplace, regardless of whether purchased via Steam or Microsoft Store, will be transferred to MSFS 2024 when you log in with the same Xbox Gamertag.

If you’re still experiencing difficulties accessing particular content such as just aircraft, but do have access to other types of products, I’d recommend opening a ticket with out Customer Support team who will be happy to help out! Submit a request – Microsoft Flight Simulator Support

Thanks
The MSFS Team

I recently bought the Premium Deluxe upgrade for MSFS 2020. The problem is that the Premium Deluxe upgrade is not showing up anywhere in the MSFS 2024 library. Does anyone know why this is? I know i buy the 20 version but i should be able to use it in 24 or am i wrong?

If you purchased an update for MSFS2020, there is no free upgrade to the comparable version of MSFS2024.
A lot of the content from the MSFS2020 update is useable in MSFS2024 however.

Yep. I’m sorry I wrote it kind of wrong.

I am talking about the content bought in msfs 2020. But I should be able to use this content in msfs 2024. Or am I wrong. Because I can’t even enable it in my Library

Yes, you should be able to.
If the missing items in “My Library” show FS2020 (not FS2024) they should be able to be enabled.
If you cannot, you have an issue somewhere with the sim.
In the staff article above from Chewwy94, there is a link to contact MSFS support.
Contact them and they should be able to help.

I already did that but thanks for your help nonetheless:)
