Wait! I assumed that the firmware is something that you load into the hardware’S PCB’s component and not that you are running on your PC! That is the software version you circled out, Flitesim FFBTools! Are we talking about this?
Sorry for these questions, I have opened up their website and become clear!
It’s a little tricky this time because both , firmware and software have a version 3.1.0 right now
What version are you running currently?
Ok then check if the firmware is 3.1.0 too . And try to tune your roll axis - it should help
allright , you are up to date, Cogging should be minimal with inertia around 80, give it a try
Thank you, iNherjer!
To be frank, I doesn’t deteriorate my immersion that much, just read it here and there. it’s present actually but not with that huge amount, and probably will change with the new editions of the firmware. This is a very exciting piece of equipment, for sure!
I will try out this inertia setting
Most of us wouldn’t have really noticed it if no one told them it’s there
for me it wasn’t an issue on any time but it’s nice to see the yoke is getting even better over time
Can anyone tell me (sanity check), if i apply left yoke/right yoke and pitch in and out, should there be any sort of sound coming from the inside as those actions are done, ie: a rumble or bump feeling (with the software off etc)? Concerned something is amiss after a profile loaded and caused HARD left/right yoke, due to bad propwash rpm settings (i think in general it feels ok and reacts ok though)
Should that motion be smooth as butter, no bump feeling with the software off (and maybe the power off), need a baseline?
It’s nothing to do with the belt. It’s all down to the type of motor and software.
If you move the pitch axis quickly with the power off, you will feel a bump in the middle. It’s the motor behaving like a dynamo and generating emf which is resisting the magnets. It’s recommended that you DON’T move the handle rapidly with the power off by the way!
Correct! The motor is the culprit here. Making small adjustment when just flying straight, you will feel these ticks and cogging from the magnets in the motor. In other words, you can’t do small adjustments smooth and linear. It will always feel that you chop your way through a couple of milimeters at a time. This is nothing software/firmware will fully fix. This is one of the few, but the biggest problem with this yoke in my opinion.
