Cockpit Quickview Left/Right

Doesn’t matter what keys I assign to the Cockpit Quickview Left/Right it simply doesn’t work for me. I’ve tried on stock and third party aircraft but no luck. Anyone any ideas about this?

The default keys are CTRL plus the left arrow, or CTRL plus the right arrow.
Both work fine on my keyboard, but need to be held down as they do return to forward view when released.
If you have tried this and no success, have you tried with an empty community folder?
An addon conflict can cause issues like this.

Thanks for the reply but no, even with an empty Community folder it still doesn’t work. If I search by input, for whatever keying sequence I assign, it finds the action in the list no problem. But once in the aircraft it’s a no go. I’ve tried the 90 degree and 45 degree options, but nothing. Strange thing is I’ve never been able to get custom views to work either, so I guess the two issues are related in some way.

Do you have any controllers plugged in?
If so, did you try with just a mouse and keyboard?

Yeah I have the Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo… I’ll certainly try that later

This :point_up_2:

Unplug all controllers leaving just the MKB and now try. It should work which means there is some kind of conflict with your controller. I encountered this issue and the problem was another game controller I had left plugged in. Now its all good, the view keys work even with my cheap joystick plugged in.

Thank you for your reply. Well, if they don’t work with my controller plugged in I guess I’ll have to do without them as I’m not giving up on my Honeycomb setup. Haven’t tried yet and won’t have time now till tomorrow, but will report back with my findings. Thanks again

It could come down to a binding also. So you shouldn’t really need to give up the whole controller.

The settings for bindings are difficult to navigate, but you can do a a search by the keys/inputs and see what they are all bound to.

Oh for sure, I didn’t mean that you have to give it up. The unplugging was purely for testing purposes :grinning:

I will be very surprised if the view hotkeys do not function with just MKB plugged in. Good luck, hope you find a fix.

Try TrackIR 5 or similar and use all your keyboard commands for aircraft systems…?
I used to bind dozens of keys to view commands and said I’d never use TiR or clips because I didn’t want or couldn’t afford to run software in the background potentially eating into my FPS in flight sim.
Just in the last year I finally decided to try it - life is so much better now.
I will say that with TiR I do have to run that program at a high priority to remove some odd random stuttering ingame. If you have TiR and are experiencing that - change the TiR priority from ‘normal’ to ‘high’ and that solves it.

Do you have custom keyboard mapping?
Try default keyboard setting, does this work?

If your using a custom set and if the default works:
To fix, you need to create a new custom mapping. Do not use copy or rename. It must be a new custom from scratch.

Still doesn’t work with controllers unplugged

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I suffer with a vestibular condition that would be aggravated using TiR

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately the default keyboard profile fails to work too

Were the views working fine before you got that Honeycomb?

There is the nuclear option of deleting any profiles you have made. Also try unplugging then reinserting keyboard.

Have a look at this:
https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/guide-how-to-configure-cockpit-views-cameras-using-custom-camera-controller-assignments/171116

I’d never tried the Quickview option but my custom views have never worked, even before the Honeycombe. It’s not a show stopper and I’ve survived this long without. Just very strange

Dear community,

i hope this is the right place for this issue. I found a post which describes the problem I got very good, unfortunately it’s closed:

First I got the problem with the cockpit quickview (left/right/next position/prev position). The keys are set correct and in the external view everything is working fine. When I change to cockpit, nothing.

After rearranging some controls, now also my left mouse button won’t work when i click on the instruments to change the parameters.

I changed also all controllers to default state in msfs, not working.

I really need your help, without the mouse the game is not really playable.

Thanks and greetings,
Mocko

Re: MSFS 2024. I’m having the same problems in Camera settings. I can’t get any cameral views to save or load. Keys are just non-responsive. Also, ESC is not useable or visible after the game is loaded. The only way I can quit is to just close the window.
