CoherentGTCore DLL causing installation freezes

Processing: Corherent Fault Module.gif…
After installing AIG, MSFS started freezing up about 3 mins after loading up.
Everything was fine before AIG. The problem has steadily degenerated.
I have wiped clean my D drive and tried to re-install from MS Store and/or Xbox app.
After 3 days of trying and applying all suggestions from forums such as turning off AVG, resetting the Store app, cache, nvidia drivers updated etc etc still no joy. AppCrash software is continually flagging “Fault Module Name Coherent DLL” as the problem.

Exception code: 0x0000005
Fault Module Name: CoherentGTCore.dll

Can anyone help?

why you try to repair the main application if you already know that ( the thirdparty app ) AIG cause that issue ? … ( I remember existing topics about )

In case you have these app un-installed and you run into CoherentGTCore.dll there are also some existing topics. Have you checked these for possible helpfull hints ?

HI. Not 100% sure AIG is the cause but the fault and the install seems to much of a coincidence.
This is not a new fault and it was established that AVG had a big part to play. I tried disabling it during install but no success. So, I’m at a quandary tbh … :worried:

at first we must be sure, that not these AIG cause that error ( then we are also in wrong category ). Therefoe my question was like whether you have these tool still installed.

And yes… Anti-Virus tools caused sometime issues and also these one . I remember not less reports where AVG blocked some files, but also other anti-vir solutions making more trouble as they should do. Are you sure that all services from AVG are disabled ? And no special Firewall Setting ?

I not remember all cases related to that dll , but anti-virus-tool was one of it … or also problems with the file access.

Have you un-installed msfs as per FAQ ? ( manuall removal of files which are left )

AIG and all related files are deleted. It’s a ‘stand-alone’ .exe so there’s no registry issues with it.
I’ve installed CCleaner so I’ll see if that can do anything. Thanks for getting back. Much appreciated.

had you can manage in meanwhile the issue ?

Hi. 8 days later - no. I have tried everything, every suggestion, been through the checklist and the official advanced troubleshooting and no success. I get the “flghtsimulator.exe has stopped working” part way throught the download. Or the fs-base-package files just continue to loop itself. This is a known problem. Asobo need to design a more robust installer. The only thing left to do is to go back to Windows 10 and reinstall MSFS. The only problem is that I have gone past the 10 day grace period for trying out Windows 11 so I cannot go back to the previous version. It’s gonna be a total wipe and clean in order to get back to Windows 10.

I am in the same situation here. I completely ran out of ideas. I have an open ticket with zen but no reply so far. very frustrating!!!

I think Zen will only tell you to do what they’ve already published. They may have some more tricks up thier sleeve who knows. Make sure you pass it on to the community if you find a fix.

a note:

@Mihaita fixed its CoherentGTCore.dll issue with update of graphics driver…

PS: you not mentioned former, that you also switched from Win10 to Win11… which is a completly different scenario

HI Michal, Thanks for the info. I’m still without MSFS some two weeks later lol. I stopped trying to install for a couple of days to give myself a mental break. My nVidia graphics drivers are up to date. I’ll try a DDU and see if this helps. Ah, yeah, I updated to Windows 11. I did mention it in my post 3 days ago. I think this could be the real cuprit to the reinstal problems. At the moment I’m preparing my PC to go back to Windows 10. I’ll try the DDU today first. I’ll let you know how it goes. Thanks for keeping in touch!

Hi All.
Update:
After 4 weeks of not being able to install MSFS, I have now reinstalled Windows 10 on it’s own M.2 on-board SSD. (Asus Hero XI). MSFS 2020 has installed also on it’s own M.2 SSD overnight without issue. I am now attempting to install AIG again.

Updae:
AiG installed without any problems. MSFS 2020 running now as before. It’s possible the sim didn’t agree with something or onother in Windows 11. Been a busy weekend re=installing and re-configuring. Haven’t even started on P3d yet lol. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
