Slated to be Famous Flyer X, and I am assuming at this point developed unfortunately by Aeroplane Hel…Heaven, with the only alternative maybe being inibuilds.
No release date at this time from my understanding.

It’s somewhat weird to me to do the Caravelle before the Comet.
In any case, I see little chance that this will achieve the level of fidelity that people interested in such an aircraft will want as a Famous Flyer.

Another icon of aviation history to have a travesty of a representation from AH foisted upon us. I wish they would either stop making these or stop having AH make them.

I’m quite sure this Caravelle is from Aeroplane Heaven, they were working on a Caravelle for FSX or P3D I guess and never released it, I guess they resurrected the product for msfs… Hopefully not only the early III models and they expand the line to the more interesting VI-N and VI-R models… I don’t know why people hate AH. they’ve been developing great and fun airplanes fast!..

Jorg said during the livestream that he was doing a bit of ‘soul searching’ regarding the ‘lightness’ of the FF and Historical aircraft in balancing between ease of use vs the community feedback for higher fidelity and systems depth for these aircraft. It sounds like the eye opener WAS in fact the state of the Boeing 707. This might could lead to other delays (aside from the licensing issues) and better product in those categories going forward…and into the 2024 program

Was this confirmed? I don’t recall hearing anything about the Caravelle in the Dev Q&A today, then again I could have missed it.

Not confirmed that it was AH, but AH was working on one a couple years ago, and considering that they seem to have the contract for historical transport aircraft like this, plus the fact that they had one in progress, I’m 99.9% sure it’s them.
Could be because Jorg mentioned they originally wanted this to coincide with the Olympics (which are in Paris this year).
There was no official confimation, there was just a Caravelle on the Road Map at the end of the stream. Might even been accidentally.

Well, Jörg said he deleted a bunch of slides, so I guess he didn’t pay attention to the updated roadmap after that since he basically waited until the last moment to change the presentation. So I’d think that counts as virtually announced.
Does anyone think it could be the missing Local Legend 18? But then there needs to be a France update I guess.
Brilliant, it’s about time we saw some jetliner love for the legends series. Hopefully we see maybe a Tristar in the future, VC10… I’ll shut up.

No, it was in the road map as famous flyer (before the 707 in fact).
To be fair, if it was a mistake, at least, as Jorg noted, it had a picture of the 707 above the Caravelle title.
This will be Famous flyer 11 & unless it had a glass retrofit cockpit I’m not interested!
Well, I’m glad the 707 is coming, despite it being an AH plane (I’ve got a few AH planes, some are good some meh) I will buy it on day 1. If the fact that AH is making one, results in no-one else making a “better” one, maybe one of the “better” developers will make a DC8 instead, I’d rather have a good DC8 than a "good’ 707 anyway.
The Aeroplane Heaven 707 is now released with sub-standard quality even for a LL/FF release.
I sincerely hope that MS immediately pulls the Caravelle from AH at whatever state it is in and gives it to a 3rd party dev that can deliver at least a “good enough” product.

I suspect that it’s part of AH’s contractual obligation so I can’t see that happening without MS/Asobo still having to give AH a set amount of money to make up for lost dev time if they cancel the project.
In one interview Jörg said that AH “offered” him the Caravelle since it was already in their pipeline. And he said yes.
So what you suggest ain’t gonna happen.
Copy that, thank you! As much as I love the Caravelle, if it’s AH butchering it once again, I will have to put my wallet away because of “Fool me thrice” etc.
