I have msfs 2024 and when I put my airplanes and scenery in the community folder they dont show up. So when I look in the Market place ..My Library settings it shows a community folder with in the community folder..so I point it to the right community folder that has my planes and scenery ..reboot and it adds another community folder …so I have now 3 community folders!!!
Even when I delete the xtra community folders it adds them again
Help!!!
Using the inbuilt method to shift your folders, you’re not adding the Community folder, but its parent – Packages.
I was doing the same without realizing I didn’t have to type community.
Example if your directory folder is FS2024, then point the community folder there and it will be created in your FS2024 directory. Don’t type community. Put your content in the new community folder then delete all the other community folders.
Ok Ill try this Thank you
ok so I have steam and in the dir path it has
Community
Official 2020
Official2024
I put all my planes and scenery in the community folder
But when I run msfs2024
It doesnt show my planes when I look in the community folder it has my planes still but has added a new community folder and it is looking to that one?!
In the marketplace there is a little gear icon next to search on the right.. When you click on it you will see the option to point your community folder to where you want. have you done that?
Yes , multiple times… it’ll say i need to reboot..After rebooting My planes and scenery still dont show ..when I go back to marketplace and gear icon, its pointing to a new community folder that it created inside the community folder I already had! Its crazy
Its working now by pointing it to packages instead of community folder
Thank you
for your help!!!
The community folder is created when you install the game. In my case it was on my C: drive. I wanted to move it to my D: drive where my MSFS2024 directory is. So I pointed it to my MSFS2024 directory and the community folder was created there. Moved my content into it and it works.
What I was doing wrong was typing community after I highlighted the MSFS2024 folder using that gear icon next to search in the marketplace. That’s why it kept recreating community folders within the community folder when I kept trying to point to it.
Anyways glad you got it working. Happy flying ![]()
All my folders within the community folder show in the game but are disabled . i dont know why .
First, I bought the steam version of FS2024. But I gave it back and decided to buy the store version. After deinstalling the steam version, a Microsoft Flightsimulator 2024 folder remains back at User/appdata/roaming.
Can I delete this folder? Because there is a usercfg.opt file with the wrong community folder path(the steam community folder path)
I think MSFS2024 has a bug in the Community folder. If left alone, it will create another Community folder under the existing one, and also create Official2020 and Official2024 folders.
I can confirm that some time ago a folder named “community” appeared within the “community” folder.
Personal Comments and Observations
I don’t know that it’s a bug as much as an enforced folder structure. No one on the SDK team has yet explained fully the reasoning behind three distinct and specifically named folders, but clearly someone or some future process programmatically needs it laid out this way.
I have the same issue. Custom liveries, which are stored in the community folder, won’t work. They show up in the marketplace as disabled, but don’t show up in the livery section (plane configuration).
The only package which works in MSFS 2024 is the navigraph-efb-simbriefapp. All other packages don’t work in MSFS 2024 (Microsoft Store version).
The next strange thing is, that there are multiple entries of those packages in the content.xml file. It seems, that one entry will be added at each start of the MSFS 2024.
Any ideas?
Here you can find a workaround:
They broke the way the Library sorts aircraft in the Library. They thought they were being smart about it, but, don’t seem to understand their own system and how it works. So, yes, your liveries will likely now become new planes instead of living within the variant it should belong.
What they said was that the library now sorts by icao_model and ui_createdby, and must use ui_type to create variants, but it appears to be quite broken now, because, well, look at what the library looks like now. I hope they come back to their senses and go back to the old sorting method on ui_manufacturer and ui_type, and liveries through ui_variation for each ui_type.
How do you did it? It’s driving me nuts
What do you mean?
That didn’t help. I moved the community folder to a new location and all my content is disabled every time I restart MSFS.
I have to activate everything individually.
I’m on Steam SU1 Beta
I says “SystemDisabled” in content.xml
