I recently bought a new computer with a 4070Ti and an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D. However, I have been experiencing issues with MSFS game, which shuts down not only the game but my entire PC as well. I returned the computer to the store where I purchased it, and they tested it under heavy load for three days, even running it with 4k games, but they did not find any issues. When I brought it back home and started MSFS again, the problem persisted. I was wondering if you have ever had your issue fixed with CTDâs and if you have any suggestions ?
For me it looks like it was VR eye tracking in openxr toolkit. Since disabling the eyetracking, but still using openXR iâve only had 1 CTD in the last 10 Flights, with eye tracking enabled i would get CTD every couple of flights.
Unfortunately MSFS2020 seems to be very Flaky software, as many people are experiencing CTDâs, and have done since the game was released. To highlight how flaky it is Iâve had other issues with it, that you simply dont get with any other software. Such as the game freezing and not loading due to a usb peripheral (Fanatec Pedals) being plugged in, that werenât plugged in at the time MSFS2020 was installed; or a usb peripheral (Wacom Pen Tablet) being unplugged, where it was plugged in at the time MSFS 2020 was installed. I mean why the f*** should unplugging a usb Pen Tablet stop MSFS from loading??..Iâve no ideaâŠbut it does!!!..for me anywayâŠ
MSFS2020 for whatever reason doesnât like something about your system, but its not your system thatâs the problem, since itâs brand new and you will undoubtedly be able to run âevery other game you ownâ on it, without a problem âŠits a MSFS2020 problem.
Hopefully MS and Asobo have learnt some leasons and things are better with MSFS2024.
Sorry I canât help with any suggestions regarding your CTDâs and hope you find an answer.
But they didnât test it with the one game that causes the issues?
i would take it back and demand they test it with MSFS.
I had a similar issue last year, for me it was the graphics card drivers (latest arenât always the best)
i had been swapping them around all over the place, so after a clean up and a re install it was fine. It could something quite simple but finding itâŠ
