Could this be a sand storm?

Bit of strange scenery… now the sun was low - and we all know how this sim loves orange when the sun is low - but I was flying in an area where sand storms are not unusual… I have not seen this kind of ‘weather’ before… is MSFS that sophisticated already?

It’s possible that the low visibility related to the sand storm got translated into what you saw, but I doubt the sim actually thought it was sand.

It’s probably unfamiliarity on my part… it’s what I imagine a sand storm might look like, but perhaps it was just that enthusiastic orange tricking me.

Afterwards I thought: I should have shifted the time to noon and normal daylight. But then I had already closed the sim. So I went back.

I guess it’s just fog.

I think it’s the same thing discussed in this topic:

Most likely there was a sandstorm in that area, but since the sim has no means of knowing what is a cloud of sand and what is a cloud of water it simulated it like that. The result looks pretty realistic though.
