Absolute blast to fly, especially in VR.
Somebody needs to mod the co-pilot to look like Dominic Santini.

Go into the pilot’s logbook in the sim and search for the specific aircraft - it’ll then display all the flights using that (and only that) aircraft, you’ll be able to see the total flight time etc at the bottom of the list.
Any of you Xbox guys using Thrustmaster HOTAS for choppers? I did nothing as far as settings, its my usual custom settings for jets/prop planes and was able to fly I guess without using the throttle. How are you mapping everything for choppers? I have prop mapped to two buttons on the HOTAS to use for the Harrier thrust angle and I think that is mapped to throttle for helicopters so that might work to change throttle. Any tips from Xbox users with HOTAS would be greatly appreciated (Just picked up the 222b as my first payware chopper).
I have this overlapping issue also - hopefully we get a fix on the Thursday update.
I am, but I’m not near my Xbox at the moment… I’ll jump on tomorrow and post screenshots of my heli setup for you.
Absolutely agree, was hoping for an hh60 Jayhawk by now, or mh65 dolphin. Cowan put in the effort to reproduce the paint scheme for the USCG however no my knowledge, the USCG has never has a 222b in active service.
and again… I wish someone would put through the effort and just create the MH65 or HH60 already.
The USCG did fly the A109 as the MH-68 in the Caribbean. If you close one eye and squint with the other, the 222 kinda looks like a 109!
I’ve got various views etc set to the hat switch which I’ve not copied (you can probably work them out yourself), and just to eliminate any confusion, the B5 key sets the Barringer but also doubles a shift key, enabling me to double up on assignments on some of the other buttons. Anyhow, here’s screenshots of my HOTAS One stop for helicopters:
Someone is doing a Dauphin, but I can’t for the life of me remember who
That’s a thin cut fried potato isn’t it? I suppose it could have quite a lot of lift if perfectly shaped ! ![]()
What is the deal with the strange inside cockpit views left, right and forward? Would prefer normal left right and upper dash view to the no cockpit at all tilted view they setup. Anyone else have this as their default views on this one? Strange. I guess its helpful for landing but kinda ruins immersion when you look left or right and it looks like you are flying thru the air like superman.
Just set up your own
They are bugged on Xbox. They are obviously not correct, I’m sure a future update from Cowan will fix these. The H125 has the same issues sort of. The instrument cams are all on the floor boards and anti torque pedals.
The latest update (for Xbox) fixed the guages in external view issue but still has the same inside POF issues. Hopefully they will make it normal left and right and forward view. Actually the default 407 has the best views by default because you can view from back right outside which is very helpful for landing.
The new update also made the chopper less nice to fly
its like it lost some weight and it not this weight you are banking in the corners anymore. Just flying straight even isnt the same feeling.
Its faster to turn and more controllable I think, easier to fly fast and an inch of the ground, but it less involving, you dont care about flying it anymore.
I have taken it on looooong trips, now I have to force myself to keep flying, before I had to force myself to STOP flying it…
I’m on Xbox X and right now there’s no straight and level flight in that bird.
Agreed, I have the Squirrel and the 222, and while I can trim the former to a point I can leave the controls untouched, there’s absolutely no chance of trimming the 222 to that level of accuracy.
Shame, 'cos it’s a lovely looking thing!
I have a series 2 elite controller on hardest setting, the thumbsticks that is, and you need to turn down the sticks sensetivity to 70%, and no deadzone, it becomes a very different helicopter after that! All helis becomes better with these settings with a controller! It should be standard on xbox!
Thank you for the tip. It made a huge difference. It even feels like a heavier machine.
