CPflight MCP with MSFS2020...and the upcoming PMDG 737

Thanks for sharing. I think nothing really is new here. You need to hit the “reload” in Wasm to sync the MCP with the sim.

However there still are a number of bugs and also some lag between the MCP and the sim specially for altitude.

Hopefully it will be fixed by CPFlight.

Anyone having very often the annoying issue with FS_COM returning “port already open” where the only solution is to restart Windows?

Hello
With the last version (I try with the two last driver the B and the C) I have also the same delay with the altitude selector knob. I play in Vr so for the moment I can’t use my Cpflight module.
Is it also the same for others ?

It is the same for me; it is not yielding the results that I want. I am trying to make it work fully with PMDG B737 and MSFS. There is a lag in selecting altitudes. The green status lights are also not working. The panel works, but changes done within the simulator MCP are not shown on the CPflight MCP. It works fully with Prepar3d v5, so the panel is definitely in good condition. The driver does not work, and it takes too many steps to make it compatible. I have installed the “C” driver.

There are definitely several issues (mainly lag and couple of other bugs) with the CPFlight MCP when running with the PMDG 737 in MSFS. However what you describe (specially the green light that are not reflected on the MCP) is an indication that the CPflight is not syncing with the sim.

In order to get this synchronisation, once you run the FS_COM you need to hit “reload” in the “Wasm” menu in FSUIPC.

FallBuzzard6446, thank you for your insight on this. I will give this a try.

Can you use Spad.next to program the CP Flight MCP panel to work with the PMDG 737? I have my physical overhead panel programmed with Spad.next, but want to be sure I can program the MCP panel also if I am to buy it.

Since the PMDG update of yesterday the lag issue got significantly worse. Before that, the lag was acceptable and it affected mainly altitude and speed. Now the lag is much longer and it affects all the buttons including the EFFIS.

My config is CPFlight MCP737EL+EFFIS and FS_COM 377

Someone here has similar configuration and thinks that his config is working properly to compare behavior and setting of both configs?

Thanks

Sam

FallBuzzard6446, I checked the CPflight page today for an unrelated issue, and it came to my attention that a new driver was released less than a week ago. I have not tried it out yet, so I cannot comment on its effectiveness. I hope that this one fixes whatever lag issues there may be.

As you can see in my configuration I had already installed the new driver (377)

Sam

Same for me. I have the MCP pro and still have a lag with the altitude knob.
Don’t forget to update to the last fsuipc WASM module.

I was able to make the MCP work with the latest driver. There is a slight lag in the altitude knob, but overall it works well enough. There is also a slight lag in the B737 NG altitude selector in the real world by the way, but it is more pronounced in the CPFlight MCP. This is Paolo’s fourth stab at publishing a driver for us, so it is a sign of good faith on their part that they are trying to better the product for the community. Best to be patient–with any luck in a year from now, all bugs will be resolved. There were also bugs in the P3D software, the MSFS driver seems to be good enough for now (for me).

Please look forward

The mcp driver released by cpflight for msfs2020 is not perfect at all. The minimums knob on the efis is going backwards if you turn it quickly and the lights on the panel doesn’t light up during the start up light test, nor does it light up when hitting the strobe/study light switch on the overhead. The xplane driver made by midwest simulation for the cpflight mcp was so much better, hope midwest also will make one for msfs2020, I would those my money on them if they do.

Hi, I recently upgraded from FSUIPC 7.3.8 and CPFlight driver 3.79 to FSUIPC 7.3.15 and CPFlight driver 3.80.

Since then I have serious connection problems between my CPFlight MCP Pro 3 Ethernet device and the PMDG 737-800 (latest version) under MSFS 2020.
The connection between FSUIPC and the CPFlight driver does initially establish but after a few seconds it ceases to work.
This is however not always happening. In seldom cases the driver continues to work.

Does anyone else have the same problem? I rolled my whole system back and now it is working again with the older versions.

Thanks!

Best regards Andreas Vavra

I am running the same software config FS_COM 3.80/FSUIPC 7.3.15 but with the MCPEL (USB) and I do not have the problem that you have described.

Did you ask Paolo from Cpflight ?
