I was getting this in 2024 yesterday …every time unable to start a flight.

Will try again today later and see if its improved, sometimes it just sorts itself out!

I was initially thinking community folder. Emptied it. Unsuccessful. Then I did a clean install, same results. Beginning to think this may be server related?

Yep, I never empty/reload anything - usually just waiting fixes most things!

I fly regularly in group flights, and its amazing how many times one or two people just seem to have problems loading or CTD …and nothing from anyone else.

…guess its my turn!

Alright maybe some progress…

I just noticed that my Quest 2 headset was plugged into a hub and on. I never leave it on (kids). I turned the hub switch off and successfully loaded 5 times at 2 different airfields KLAX and KSAN. I also rarely if ever use the VR headset in 2024.

That’s good to hear, not a VR person myself so cant offer an opinion on that …but hope it works for you!

Just had a few more successful flights.

I am encounter an unusual system restart after 10 min of flight . anyone here with this happens? seems like the CPU is overheating but im not into the beta . something changed . i don t know what to do . and im scared that i am not able to fly anymore .

A PC restart usually is a sign of a worn out PSU. When is the last time you dusted out your PC?

Update:

Sim still crashing but I seemed to have found the issue.

inibuilds KLAX Enhanced v1.0.1

With it installed 2024 will freeze once you zoom down to aircraft on airfield (muted sound) then crash shortly thereafter. Removing it and re-enabling the default KLAX and no more CTD. Running the latest version of 2024 (no beta).

I had similar issue. Would freeze, then CTD anytime flying into LAX area, and some other areas. CTD would happen at the same exact spot 100% of the time. I updated my BIOS, not one problem since. A couple other people reported similar findings. Might be worth a try.

I’ve noticed with KLAX installed (default disabled) that when choosing 25L it does not place you at the end of the runway. It places you at 7L 25R Hold. Where it will CTD. This is repeatable.

Once I remove KLAX Enhanced and re-enable the default KLAX it will place and start you at the end of 25L

My BIOS is already latest (has been for some time now) My issue is also 100 percent repeatable. It would even CTD the sim same way if you chose another airfield and start at end of runway. Remove inibuilds KLAX Enhanced and the problem resolves itself.

Adding some more bucket IDs…

Is your Nvidia driver up to date, a new one released not to long ago

Was using the 577.00 but now on the newer drivers.588.88. Same results.

Same here. Was slowly trying 2024 but in 2nd flight CTD. Back to 2020 I guess.

Same. No issues with 2020. Looking as if the issue is related to the sim or a recent Windows update or server related.

Gosh! I thought it was just me. I sat at my PC at 9:30am this morning and it’s now 7:17pm and still can’t fly anywhere without crashing. The sim crashes from multiple airports with multiple aircraft. I flew a few routes more than a week ago and had no issues. I see there was a Microsoft update that was installed on 7/24/2025 (KB5062660). I’m going to uninstall and test again to see if this fixes anything.

Well, I got a bit father. A flight from EDDF-KSFO lasted until 125nm from KSFO, and an error reporting, “Your Graphic device has encountered a problem…” I have the Aorus Master RTX 5090 and using the latest 580.88 driver. I’m considering reverting back to 576.88 as I did not have a single issue with it prior to the KB5062660 update.

With 580.88 and KB5062660 removed from my system, I was able to complete a successful flight. Hope this is helpful
