16GB RAM is not enough for this. You should get atleast 32GB RAM to run the simulator in Ultra.
have in mind, that XMP is overcloacking. There are different kind of XMP certifications… Tested on specific boards and testet only in an unkown manufactor environment. Also there are different kind of xmp profiles ( low and high risc - but ever a kind of rics because xmp is “out of spec” ).
you should read former posts
But yes… for a lot of users the XMP made no trouble. But all of this was already mentioned. As say’d: just read former posts.
this tools test only one component at one time… Therefore I recommended another kind of test
But anyway:
one another hint I would repeat… Try to disbale Live Traffic , AI *… some users reported in meanwhile an issue with this setting ( in special if Mods are used ). Same for the Generic-Model Settings ( try ON for both ).
Of course this not explain ctd in main menue. This points to an issue with your system, devices, …
yea i get it could be my system
guess i should buy another pc to see if that works with msfs and if not keep buying another until i finally get it working
xp11 works perfectly in VR as do all my other VR software
guess il have to spend a fortune to get lastest cpu gpu etc
i loaded msfs up before an managed to get to hit go fly and was in cockpit for a good 5 mins…i then esc and went to menu to look at settings…whilst having a sip of coffee…the music stuttered then CDT
went to load again got as far as asobo logo cdt…loaded again…as it got to main menu cdt…i just dont get it
if it was system it wouildnt allow me to get to cockpit and even fly to some extent
this cdt thing seems to be random…surely loading as far asobo logo cant be that gpu intensive and if it was it should cdt there most of time…but as said can even get to fly on rare occassions but will always cdt somewhere
and lets face it…xp11 is just as cpu and gpu intensive especially in vr dependant on settings…and i max mine enough to sustain 25-30fps in vr
I am permitted to add my own opinions and I don’t need your guidance on what to read.
i also have constant CTDs sadly… but in my case CTDs without errors are happening even during download in FS Launcher. Are there any suggestions how to prevent this?
Solved mine by turning off live traffic and setting airport vehicles and the related sliders there to zero. Was getting a repeatable ctd when on final approach.
Yeah, I agree with you. Your experience is the same as mine.
MrUn3elievable, Microsoft should at least buy you lunch for sharing your actually helpful troubleshooting notes.
Limiting FPS for MSFS in Nvidia Control Panel seems to have resolved the issue for me too. (My laptop’s 2070 Super is doing fine at 60 FPS)
It runs totally on random premises, you can have all the OC you want or none at all, 15 controllers or none at all and it will crash or not crash as it pleases. It’s just very bad programming, not being able to adapt to exceptions without crashing. No reason to make me change hardware that can run this thing at 60fps solid just because they can’t provide a nulll pointer solution, and change with what? Is there Asobo certified hardware? But the most annoying thing, is it worked PERFECTLY before as I logged 60 hrs almost flawlessly, so it’s OBVIOUSLY a problem in the updates.
Has happened three times to me in two days. Once on an ILS final approach in Mooney. Then during a manual landing at the same destination airport, no ILS. Today in mid-flight in the TBM930. Any/all of these could have been triggered by mouse click on an instrument. WIll try the suggestions above. Hope it will fix the issue until Microsoft gets their update act together. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Never had issues until this week. Maybe it was an NVIDIA driver update or a Windows Update but I get fairly consistent crashes now, usually with no warning or error (one time did get the blue screen).
Ryzen 5 3600
16GB RAM
MSI X570 board
RTX 2060
I have FPS locked to 30 running 1440p. Usually flying the TBM and running live traffic and weather.
This game is an utter disappointment right now.
Same here.
I solved my CTD problems by turning off AI Traffic. I can complete long haul flights all over the world.
I have a lot of mods in the Community folder, all are working fine.
See what will happen with the next update…
My game keeps CTD after 10 minutes even with no keyboard and mouse. So it’s no mods, no USB and no OC, I even tried to limit fps to no avail. This is definitely broken code. Now I have 500$ of controllers sitting on their butts, I even sold my wheel for a yoke, so I can’t even play driving games. Thanks for the great update, I can see snow in screenshots and videos now. Great holidays.
well ive given up trying now…reset m pc to how it was with recommended xmp on…now awaiting something from asobo with regard to a fix
im shocked that they have not made any announcement that they are aware of issues with some kind of eta to a hotfix
Reporting consistent CTDs on every flight after 5-10 minutes. I don’t think I had one CTD prior to the last update. Hope Nvidia/Asobo/MS provide an update soon as it’s currently unplayable for me.
Did you have all players on?
I was seeing the same thing, and turned that off. No ctd and going strong after over an hour now.
I did. Although I’m going to test later with AI traffic and multiplayer off to see if that works for me.
