Thanks for your Answer. I have setting up the Virtual Memory now to this:
24576 = 1024x16x1,5
Did you ever try updating your VC++ libraries? There was a thread or two about this months ago. I had loads of different versions installed, so I uninstalled them all then installed both the x86, and x64 versions of the latest at the time.
I’ve not seen that as a reason for a CTD since.
If you’re asking me, yes.
One thing I haven’t seen is anyone referring to an error in nvlddmkm.sys happening just before the error in VCRUNTIME.dll. Any ideas?
I have been using the sim since launch and have experienced Zero CTD issues until 2 days ago when I had my first CTD. Since that moment I either cannot get off the ground, or fly for longer than ~15 minutes before a CTD. Literally overnight I went from everything being good to 10+ CTD’s using numerous different planes/sceneries. The sim is unusable.
Event Viewer always provides what appears to be the typical “0xc0000005” fault. No warnings in game before the same sequence of a sudden, short stutter → 3 second lock-up → CTD (no error).
I cannot understand what has happened.
Between launch date and today I haven’t installed any unofficial 3rd party anything (ie. Community Folder is empty). I have two marketplace airports that I installed just after launch date (so long ago). These along with the sim are all up to date.
There have been no recent MSFS updates that would overlap the past and present and I have not updated my NVidia Drivers during this time (although I have since done so to try and troubleshoot)…literally nothing has changed except for Windows Update doing its thing (which does occasionally include Intel drivers…so maybe something?!)
I’ve read everything, including all of the troubleshooting advice, but everyone’s solutions seems so unique, arbitrary and elaborate that I just don’t know where to start or how to make sense of this. It also appears that these are often temporary.
Using Riva Tuner overlay I can see that temps are within norms. I’ve had my CPU/GPU overclocked since I started using the Sim, so again, no changes to hardware config.
I also have no CTD/BSOD…anything with any other app or stress test.
CPU: Intel 10700K
GPU: 2070 Super
RAM: 32gb
Yoke: Honeycomb Alpha
Throttle Honeycomb Bravo (without the LED driver, which has bugs)
Pedals: Thrustmaster TPR
That’s an nVidia file. Which driver version are you using?
The latest Nvidia drivers cause constant CTDs for me. Rolling back to 457.30 resolves CTD
Edit: newer drivers seem to be more sensitive to overclock than older ones. I dialed back my GPU overclock, and CTDs went away.
Please do not overclock anything like GPU, CPU and Memory. Enable “debug mode” in Nvidia Control Panel (you will find it on top in help). Disable Vsync in Nvidia Control Panel for the Sim. Enable Vsync in game and limit FPS to 30. That helped me and I can play Ultra with all features.
what is that exactly ?
You report CTDs since October 2020 and I see nowhere that you give us, the helper community , more informations as “it is *******”.
Thus… please give us more informations about your System Specs, Installed Drivers, etc.
In special the mentioned VCRUNTIME.dll and nvlddmkm.sys points to an issue with your system.
PS.: and you should edit your hating post. We are the helper community and not needs such kind of post in a thread where you ask for our help.
I haven’t had the time or energy to try again. This whole CTD nonsense is not making it very fun to keep trying the same flight.
Hope the developers can release a fix soon.
Fly TRANSOCEANIC. Airports need to be coastal. Won’t Crash. Hasn’t for me.
You’re Welcome.
I’m sorry my message wasn’t for anyone to take personally, including MS and Adobo, or you MichaMMA, just mega frustrated.
I rolled back with DDU to 457.30 and did the vync/max FR and had a flight. I won’t say it was successful because I forgot to put out my landing gear
Thanks all, we’ll see if it holds up.
okay so…why is there 2,000+ messages in this and no one has said where to get the error log? Does that not exist or?
You’re looking for the windows event log - Event Viewer… and system and application log
Have you tried completely emptying your community folder…if not I suggest copy all the stuff in it to another folder…and go through the process of adding each one back . I think sometimes a new update will screw with certain parameters and sometimes just ditching community folder files and adding them back in does the trick. Or maybe you have a mod in it that is causing a conflict. Sorry can’t be more help
While a useful troubleshooting step, due to the apparent randomness of these crashes, you would neve know for certain it had fixed anything…until you experience a crash, and find that it hasn’t.
I don’t believe I have read a single post that reports that “I had a crash and it was this.” {points at offending item}
If you’ve ever logged a Zendesk ticket about this, you only have to look at the boiler plate response from them to understand they don’t have a handle on it either.
I would estimate that approx. 30% of the post are like “please give us logs from windows event viewer / log”
EDIT: here with an additional docu link
Well I had a case of the CTDs and emptying out my community folder fixed it and am now enjoying most of the mods CTD free so do as you want and will. Happy piloting!!
Which ones did you remove that were causing you crashes? Keeping accurate records of what does what is key, otherwise we quickly become the victims of myth, rumour, and FUD.
be aware of the v-sync issue if you use these VSync Setting “30” ( 30 mean not 30 fps ) … ( see also )
