Just adding my voice to the choir. Crashing most of the time around 10-15 minutes into the flight. Sim does one stutter, freezes and a couple seconds later CTDs with no error message. Haven’t managed to find a consistent way to reproduce it yet. Checking some “fixes” by other people: community folder is clean, i’ve tried a clean reinstall of the sim (downloading at 70mbps on my gigabit internet but that’s another matter), cockpit interaction is set to legacy, sim is installed on the sysyem SSD.
Update on above, may be a coincidence but switching off the G1000 Asobo package (and restarting the sim) that came with the latest update (it was beta anyway tbf) allows me to launch flights without issue from both Southend and Barling airports now (done about 6 times) with no CTD whether I have a destination set or not. Obviously with this short a journey I cannot comment on how this affects in-flight CTDs. Next to try some longer flights and different locations.
I still find that launching from a non-airport (custom) location causes the flight load screen to freeze.
Take care of things like multiplayer as in the past just flying near someone with a custom livery has caused crashes … happens with scenery too and it’s really difficult to pin down
multiplayer is already off and everything set to generic models anyway
Well said Hillman!
You see, great minds really do think alike
i had the same issues with the dreamliner when coming to external camera and clicking in game map do you think there could be an issue with this plane as i have had a few other flights no problem ?
I dont get it. I tried my Naples to Catania flight again. Everything setup like before (live weater, live traffic, same route, same aircraft). The only thing i changed before the flight was uninstalling the FBW A320 (I did not use it in my other attempts before, i always used the stock A320 but the FBW version was installed as well) and I disabled the rolling cache.
And surprise…no CTD this time. The flight was smooth as butter (only some minor glitches regarding graphics and AP functions). Next time I will try with the rolling cache enabled again.
That’s why the usual advice of flying without Community mods installed is given if you encounter instability, especially after a recent update has been installed. But if you weren’t flying that plane when you were getting those crashes, but it was installed, it could be MP users near you were flying that plane?
Despite all the latest patches, I still often get CTD’s near landing approaches. i9-11900k, 3080ti, 32gb, custom loop cooling.
Some are using addons that are basically unchanged FSX one’s, why should Asobo want to hamper their own development and customers by accomodating them?
If 3rd parties want to develop for MSFS it is they that should comply not vice versa!
I have zero addons loaded except for the Working Title G3000 mod. I don’t think this is a mod issue. It’s just another manifestation of the software development competency issue exemplified by most of Asobo’s work.
Thats great. I’m talking about released on the official store. But keep ignoring the problem and fermenting the ground for Asobo to tank the game further. Again, what is the issue with ANY of my solutions? Particularly giving developers access to a development build so THEY can ensure their add-ons function and not have it on Asobo’s plate? I guess that doesn’t fit your narrative now does it.
It’s actually a huge mod issue
I just reproduced the exact same crash with literally zero addons loaded - not even the G3000 mod. All this blood is on Asobo’s hands.
So far today, CTD rate is 75%.
Now 80%.
If you look further up and I believe I had even responded to you, these crashes occur with a CLEAN installation and empty community and official folders. So no. Not a “huge mod” issue.
Ask yourself why auto manufacturers don’t endorse aftermarket parts?
Ask yourself why there’s a Right to Repair movement.
