Msfs started download of new update. Got to where logo screens would start and just shut down the computer. When I try again I get the new sign in screen but crash after black screen leading to logo screens. Can’t get anything from Xbox or store apps. Program has run well for months.

Having the same issue. Haven’t been able to start the sim at all. Also on XBOX X. Crashes every time I click ‘UPDATE’.

I faced the same trouble too. I tried to download in my XBOX X and in the middle of the loading page, the game CTD. so I erased all my content in the save of my xbox, download it again and when I was installing the WU 2 (USA) it crashed again. so i did the same procedure and avoided the WU2, I don’t installed the WU 2 and the SIM is running good. I guess the problem is in the WU2 imo.

This is what has been happening to me. You can see a little spinning gear showing up in the bottom right and then freezing just before the CTD:
Both yesterday and today I had the same issue. Yesterday when there were connectivity issues and I was getting a CTD on the loading screen, same as OP, I had uninstalled my MSFS and re-installed. There was no benefit and eventually it was the servers/connectivity getting worked out which got me through the loading screen. I then installed all of my marketplace content and put the sim down for the night. When I came back in the morning, back to CTD on the loading screen. I went like that all day hoping that the connectivity would be resolved and I’d get through as I had the day before but that never happened. So about 2 hours ago I uninstalled again and started all of the installation over again. Suer enough just now it finished and I was able to get past the loading screen but now the Marketplace is unavailable. So either the re-install got me past the loading CTD or the fact that the marketplace was down got me past the loading screen CTD. I am betting on the latter and that my uninstall/reinstall didn’t effectively help despite appearances. So hopefully when the marketplace is back up, I can reinstall everything and get back and running but I’ve yet to be able to get into the sim with the SU11 update. I’ve never had any issues with prior updates or betas I’ve been a part of so hoping this is all server side anomalies that will get ironed out.

I have a similar issue. The game crashes to desktop every time I try to load up the game. I have the exact same issue as what FauxFlights just demonstrated. I even removed all of the mods out of the community folder and updated the NVidia driver. It’s the same outcome. It’s weird because it was working just fine yesterday after I installed the update.
Please vote on this report so the devs will be aware of it. Sim wont start after 40th anniversary update
My problem was the gaming services. I had to remove and reinstall it. Then I could download a complete new installation. When I tried to install from Xbox (I’m on pc) it said it had a problem but under details it showed how to remove and replace gaming services. I’ve spent today finding and reinstalling all my addons works great so far. I don’t know how gaming services got messed up but it happened at the beginning of the update process when it shut down the computer.
Quick update for anyone who picks up this thread. I have been debugging this since Friday and I have a solution that worked based on what a moderator had said to someone else about a potential conflict. If I delete the nordic update (SU5), I can get past the load screen with no CTD. I have nothing in my community folder and plenty of disk space. The installing of that one pack causes me to not be able to get through the load screen without a CTD. In this video, I start with it uninstalled. I install it, suffer a crash at completion, suffer at CTD when I relaunch during load, and then I delete the relevant package files in the Official directory and voila it launches fine for me. This has worked time and again the past 2 days for me as I have tried to see if there is any other contributor. I have a bug reported here if you want to up-vote it and then try this for yourself.
My bug report:
For me the Italy world update and the Australia world update caused mine to CTD at the load screen. I did a fresh installation and installed each world update one at a time to see which one(s) caused the CTD.
For me it’s the australia update…weird how each of us have different world updates causing this. Have you since tried downloading either again to see if its somehow fixed?
