Crazy Overhaul Maintenance Fees

Is anyone else’s passive crew getting absolutely eaten alive by these overhaul fees?

Career Mode Economy is Broken: Engine & Electrical Overhauls are Unbalanced And I can’t scale.

Managing a large fleet—especially heavy airliners like the 737 Max—is a financial trap.

The Engine Overhaul Trap: A simple “needs maintenance” alert on an engine defaults to a massive $40M–$90M overhaul/replacement. Even if the engine just needs a cheap oil top-off, the UI forces a full replacement unless you manually dive into the sub-menus for every single plane.

Broken Electrical Wear: Electrical systems degrade at an incredibly unrealistic rate, forcing massive, expensive rebuilds after just a few flights.

All-or-Nothing UI: We need a way to batch-maintain basic wear-and-tear. Doing individual maintenance on a 20+ aircraft fleet to avoid bankrupting ourselves is tedious.

Unviable Airliners: The return-on-investment (ROI) for heavy passenger jets is completely wiped out by these astronomical maintenance fees. It’s currently more profitable to spam cheap GA aircraft than to run a major airline.

We need a major balancing pass on wear rates, realistic maintenance caps, and a better fleet UI.

I made $451.041,350, plus my income and am broke without doing the engines

Wow, that many hours and all 28 aircraft will need new engines and airframes!!!

Was it worth 22 hours of your life? This is what you must ask yourself. At a certain point your earnings do not cover your passive income costs.

Think about putting a few on OFF.

The maintenance prices in career mode are seriously ludicrous. Engine wear is expensive on all aircraft, but the flight controls are also crazy high, and when everything breaks at once, you get a bill of over forty million for saying a 737. You can’t even make that back in passive income. They really need to reduce wear by a few chevrons so the planes wear slower on all aircraft in career, and they have to lower those silly inspection fees. The only one making any money is the mechanic. My friends literally stopped playing career because of how unbalanced and unfair it is. A lot of us have been complaining for months about these issues

Yes, me too. Not worth it

Frankly, I suggest you find a different shop…

If only there were a variety of mechanics shops! Hopefully one is a heck of a lot cheaper than this one!

You can make repairs, excluding the engines and electrical, then sell the plane for $80, 000,000. A new one is $99,000,000.

It isn’t 22 hours for me. Find a 10-12 hour flight, put it on autopilot VNAV to track, calculate time to destination and come back 15 minutes before landing. Then I just have to shoot the approach and land. 30 min each flight. I let it fly all night while I sleep.

Yep I’ve had the dreaded 145mio maintenance bill for the 747F, 4 engines and general. 145million

This was after maybe 100hrs of simming. 4 days a 747 needs a complete engine replacement

They don’t care, we have been posting about this for 12months, they don’t talk to us.

145 million for 1 aircraft :scream: :exploding_head: :exploding_head:

Yep from memory approx 30mio for each engine and then general on top. The general category is an interesting one you can’t manually drill into it to save money from mechanic. You just pay “general”
