CTD after latest update (Update #5)

Same here and I thought it was my outdated Nvidia Driver . But I updated to the latest still happen. I have seen others fix this issue by switching to a different sound driver when starting the sim. No luck here dow.

Same issue here!

They broke the sim. What a shame! I was having so much fun.

Same for me.
All was working until I started the simulator and saw the mandatory patch.
After it was installed, no way to have my simulator back to work…
I removed the community files as they suggested, but nothing to do.
I loved this program, and helped many friends of mine to overcome the uncountable difficulties in installing it, now this is too much even for me.
In XPlane one can decide if he wants to install and test beta version, and this happens for all programs that I know. There is the last stable release available and IF YOU WISH you can install potentially instable more recent version.
Here you can’t, you have to update and then things stop working.
This time ā€œthingsā€ is the simulator itself.
Hope this new fix won’t take 2 weeks to be released, but…

Hey i don’t know about you guys. But in the event viewer its shows the CTD is related to ā€œaudioeng.dllā€

Here’s when the loading screen disappears:

CTD for me as well. Steam edition. Empty community folder. No issues on previous patches.

Same for me : If I unplug my racing wheel, I can reach the main menu. If I plug the wheel : CTD

I just updated ti Win 10 20H2 and still get the CTD. So my conclusion is that the sim is now INOP!

I had the same problem even after reinstall.
Then I diconnected all USB devices except mouse and keyboard and it loaded!

Now to investigate which controller is causing problems.

No problems here…
Sim runs more stable and even smoother…

I have a racing wheel connected as well. Gotta try that!

I’m having same issue. Nothing in community, updated Nvidia drivers, higher end system, Virtual Fly yoko/ruddo/tq6 controls (nothing else). I’ve now uninstalled the program and am in the process of downloading and installing from scratch to see if that corrects whatever it is.

Disabling controllers did not work.

I’m back to P3D v4.5 until the issue is rectified. Lesson learned!

Never had any big problems before this update.
After update sim crashes when almost completely loaded, just after Japan updates etc.
I cleaned out community folder and updated Windows and NVIDEA sw to latest version.
Still CDT on loading program.
Uninstalled FS2020 and now reinstalling, takes a few hrs as I only get DL of 27mbs normally I get 120mbs, so I guess servers are stressed.

Weird, I have the same setup and it loaded fine after I unplugged my G27.

did you to plugin again after the sim started ?
