I am having the same issue #PC. I started the program and there was a small update that it installed and then it began crashing to desktop in the middle of the load to main menu. Here is the information from the Windows Event Viewer:

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. The small update showed up after SU8, either yesterday or today. I haven’t had any issues after SU8 until I installed this file from the update window.

Just like me!!!

Glad I’m not the only one. Definitely started for me after I installed the update file today.

Yes, I did too before, thought it would be a fix because of the window solve FPS problem update made before emptying the community folder. Although the update was so small. Then restarted 3x and 3x CTD fully annoyed. Must test again afterwards. It doesn’t work that way, the sim is getting worse and worse!!!:rage::rage:

Hi,
I can confirm this error happens to me too, sadly…
I am no longer able to open the game at any point, it just… load and close almost instantly. I’ve been unloading all my Community Addons and reinstall fs-base without success.

Important notice

I’ve just noticed by filling this report that the installation of MSFS literally just changed of my drive, after check, I can tell that I have now 2 installations of MSFS in 2 different hard drive, one into C:\, and one into A:\, where A:\ is where I originally installed the game. Like… [redacted :)], how’s that possible?
I wouldn’t be surprised to learn the error is from here!
However I can confirm at 100% that I do not have 2 multiple “base folder” (The folder that contains “Official” and “Community”) since my hard drive C:\ does not have the required space.

Hope someone will possible understand this problem and be able to help us!

Having the same issue. It is really annoying, haven’t been able to play all day.

Turn off the Nahimic Service… That seemed to fix the CTD on MSFS 2020 start-up.

how do i turn off Nahimic Service ?

0xc0000005 is an extremely common crash in this sim and it’s hard to narrow down without access to the source code. That’s the game developer’s job, and hopefully one of them is looking at these reports.

Crashes in that module are probably due to third party addons/planes. I have never encountered a fault in that module with SU8 and I tested all of the betas. I do not fly airliners very often however.

Yes! I think the Pushback Toolbar may be the reason for that crash! I have deleted it and haven’t had CTDs after. Stutters are a whole different issue…

Goto Control Panel → Administrative Tools → Services and look for “Nahimic Service” and stop it before starting MSFS 2020.

thats the thing “Nahimic Service" isnt installed or running. i have checked running services and startup services but its not there.Task Manager 14_03_2022 6_37_00 AM
