I have been trying to setup custom camera views and I can save and load custom cockpit camera views ok. The problem is that what is loaded is NOT what I saved. It is close though. Like I might setup a view of the overhead panel. Then when I load it, it shows the overhead panel zoomed in and off to one side a bit. Certainly not exactly what I had saved. I have spent a lot of time trying to work out what the centre of focus is. Perhaps the camera is recalibrating for a different pilot view or something esoteric like that. But it seems fairly random (or at least I cannot see a pattern). Lucky I can use TrackIR as using custom views is rather difficult.
And of course I must pitch in about the annoying toggle function! But everyone seems to have made that comment, so will say no more.
It would be brilliant if we could have the functionality of XCamera…sigh.

Here is a link to a good “How To” guide on custom views.
Don’t be put off by the title, there is much more in the article.

Thank you for the reply. I had seen that post but had not thought it would apply. But I did the VFR Reset View and that seemed to fix the problem. I guess it needed the ‘home’ position to figure out all the saved views. Whatever, it seems to have worked, so thanks.

This isn’t solved though. There is a bug when the camera is saved with a zoomlevel other than the default of 50.
You know, while Asobo is trying to be all things to all people by offering a myriad of options, they wind up being no things to all people. This stuff is way to complicated, interdependent and a mess. I feel like I need a PHD to figure this out. I wish they would just offer a “simple” option.
