Yes get the mod as TheBlackWind977 suggests. The DA40 is rather lacking in default form but with the mod becomes a really pleasing tourer with much better systems modelling. If you like to fly on the numbers get a checklist and Pilots Operating Handbook for reference, both can easily be found online.
I just filed a new Zendesk entry on this issue and attached this forum thread link on the ticket. I hope that helps developers to see that (at least) one of their base aeroplanes are not working as advertised since 2021.
I also requested improvements to this and other default planes when I started using MSFS last year. To their credit, MS, Asobo and Working Title started making improvements to the avionics for default planes. The Avionics and Airplane Updates, AAU1 and AAU2 so far, have rebuilt quite a few so far: the Garmin NXi for all planes, the G3000, Longitude G5000, CJ4, 747 and 787.
What Iāve learned is that each is a massive undertaking - requiring them to understand the electrical, hydraulic, fuel, power, and so on for each plane, model it, and then build all the UI from scratch (which is the most time intensive and expensive part). The results have been amazing, and I canāt help but guess (hope) that eventually they will get around to at least some improvements to the avionics for remaining planes.
3 YEARSā¦ and this is still a problem? How hard could it be to fix?
Any updates on that? Will it be fixed in MSFS 2020 or 2024?
As I understand it, they donāt notice or see most of the bugs because the developers are blind. They donāt have any team of bug testers. They placed all responsibility for the bugs on us - the players. By creating this forum, where players themselves look for bugs and make reports on bugs. This is the policy of either Asobo or the publishers Xbox Game Studios. This is very irresponsible.
How many times the world update and city update came out ? And how many times have the game been updated? The difference is in favor of a beautiful picture for arcade players who fly with endless fuel at an altitude of 500 feet and admire it all. And for players simulating flights, they only release airplane Deluxe, Premium sets for 80$, great. A Dune helicopter was released for arcade players. More bugs for simers.
P.S. Itās just my opinion. Just take a look at the new Forza Motorsport, also published by Xbox Game Studios. A lot depends on the publisher. He regulates the game more than the developer.
Bugs that developers wonāt have time to fix. They will abandon them and move on to a the new part of the game, after which the bugs of the old game will not be fixed and I guess not be supported. I donāt even know what will happen to AIRAC here. Iām even scared of what these publishers will do to me as a player of the old part after MSFS24 release. Will they ask me to buy a new part?
It is strange to buy a new part if the old one could not become polished.
Put in a zendesk message. the DA40 is one of the easiest and fun planes to fly. Should have been resolved really, but perhaps next update next yearā¦
Used as a trainer aircraft too at some flight schools. Voted for the rpm issue!
Must not be possible to fix.
Still bugged as of mid July, 2024
Will it remain in 2024? Only time will tell.
As of 2 hours ago, the answer appears to be yes. Itās still present in FS2020 too.
Yep, plus in 2024 it got worse.
When you load into the plane it puts you in the back seat. At least when the sun is at a certain point (I was flying around 7am local in Gibralter) thereās a weird prop shadow flickering thru the aircraft. Mostly over the nose and the wing. Reminds me of the shadow cast by a helicopter.
