Sometimes. Main reason is MSFS’s weather bugs out when going back to main menu and normally requires a complete restart. It would be nice to not have to deal with that if at all possible. I’m currently doing an around the world in a DA62 so lots of legs and sometime unavoidable freezing areas.

I just took the experimental mod with engines 100 feet in front of the plane out for a spin in the pattern. For normal flying, this seems like an improvement. It now behaves like most of the other single engine planes (and the Baron). It doesn’t need constant power just to maintain a slow taxi speed…

I flew a wide circuit up to 3000ft and taxied back, this handled very well. I couldn’t fault it during this short flight.

I never saw 2350fpm, I had 2 POB and full wings (AUX empty), I recall 1900fpm after gear up, I wish I recorded it as this may of varied shortly after.

I started the flight with the default 50% fuel (50% in the main tanks and 50% in the aux tanks). And 2 people on board – pilot and copilot.

Any plane can exchange speed for altitude, that’s normal. yeah i mentioned the external sound. the sounds are coming from the engines that are 100feet in front what was the outside temperature?

The OAT readout on the G1000 was 13 C when I was starting the engines. The temp at 500 ft. should have been nearly identical. A plane can begin an initial climb at a high rate if starting from a high airspeed, for sure. But in this case, I was accelerating during the initial climb from the runway. …

it does have more thrust yeah. Id like to reduce the thrust scalar even more. from 1.25 to 1.2

question: Should I trigger an engine failure after 6-7min at full power? This Background timer will then fade as the power is pulled back. and lower power settings (above 95%) will still cause a failure, but after a longer period
