clicking on up decrease the targeted speed and your plane pitches up
clicking on down increase the targeted speed and your plane pitches down

Ah gotchya, I was thinking that “Up” meant increasing the selected airspeed, it was my first time using that mode, I was setting it up prior to flight and it didn’t make sense to me, but now it does. Thanks.
By “up”/“down” think to “nose up”/“nose down” as it comes on the G1000:
There is a known issue for some aircraft where the effect of those 2 keys are inverted, they are acting as you were thinking it should for the TBM930:DA40NG G1000 GFC700 Autopilot FLC Nose Up and Nose Down functions reversed
