Update now available
Well what do you know! Turned on Xbox this morning and find this…
Edit:
Now deleting and reinstalling as I found straight off an issue with fuelling. All tanks were at 100% and when I tried to reduce them they just reverted back to 100%.
Reinstalled.
Now only have 1 livery plus I still cant change the fuel levels…
Can you guys explain or point me in the direction to find out how to set the transponder like a mode C in the F15E? Also how to set up a basic flight plan on the MCDU? I haven’t seen any recent tutorials since the update. Any links would be much appreciated.
Hi @AZRubiJeeper. In the F-15E, on the left console You should see 5 rotating dials. 4 of them handle the transponder digits, and the 5th would control the modes between: OFF, STBY, TEST, ON and ALT. Basically it would be between 4th and 5th mode what you are looking for.
As for the MCDU, I have yet to upload a video with a basic flight plan. But it’s simple: in the UFCP you should access the data menu, and using the keypad, you must type origin and destination in ICAO/ICAO format and press R1 to create the basic Flight Plan. Once you did this, in the F-PLAN menu you could already define arrival and departure procedures if you are familiar with the MCDU.
At this point, you will see the flightplan displayed in the HSI and you can follow the route by AP, choosing between NAV or HDG Managed (NAV and HDG switches are on your left, while switching between HDG Managed or selected is done from the AP menu on the UFCP, I personally prefer HDG managed over NAV).
For last, and this is optional, if you want to use the AUTO, SEQ or WYPT modes from the HSI, you must transform the WPs created by the Flight Plan to the WYPTs format handled by the DDI’s (WP0, WP1, WP2, etc…). This is done by pressing the UPDT button in HSI mode (from the top buttons on any of the DDI screens would be the button 2 counting from left to right).
Is it normal that I have to hold the afterburner button? When I let go power is back to mil.
Yes, if you have the engine ctrl switches set to off. Off position is a degraded mode of the real aircraft in where rpm are limited and in consequence AB is inhibited. Set them to ON.
Great! Problem solved!
Thanks for the very fast answer!
Eagles are amazing after update!
Dean, can you possibly advise what might be the issue with my update and what I can do about it please?
It also shows as version 1.0.9. Is that correct?
One more small problem… After landing I have no more rudder control or nws control.
Thanks Jack! That was very helpful! Now to test it out! Dave
I have a post asking about this earlier in this string. There’s a bug with the NWS. The aircraft should have NWS capability as you load the flight. If you press a button assigned to NWS (as you would for the F18), the NWS capability goes away and you have to reload the flight to get steering back. The fix for now is to not use the button assigned to NWS. Hopefully the next patch will fix this.
@DEAN01973 Love this new update thank you
NWS button is not featured in the F-15 as it’s a carrier-based function I believe for tighter turn rates aboard the crowded carrier deck.
@TheRealTableLeg v1.0.8 is the version number but the Marketplace is often one version ahead for some strange reason. No idea why the installer is not working for you, but I’d re-start the sim / computer / console and check again, usually clears things like that up.
Update finally showing ready to download on Xbox.
Roll on home time

Thanks Dean
Console restart and FS2020 restart and all working normally now.
I have very low res textures on the 492th “the king” livery. The pilots names on the canopy are very blurry… Is this normal?
I hadnt mentioned this on the F16 before but the new updated F15 has a strange action that is exactly the same on the F16 when in a vertical climb.
See here
Any idea what causes this?
It’s MSFS causing it - whenever an airplane reaches pure vertical, there is a tiny glitch. It was also present in FSX and Prepar3D. No idea what actually causes it though.
@FuzzyPolecat The livery is created by a third-party, from whom I bought the rights to use the artwork. It’s unusual for pilot’s names to appear on the canopy rim on F-15s, so there is no decal for hi-res artwork there. That’s probably why it’s blurry compared to the decals around it.
Thanks Dean for the info
