De Havilland CL-415 Online Tutorial by Howard Forder

I would like to thank Asobo/Microsoft for giving us a free aircraft (De Havilland) CL-415 on pre-order of MSFS 2024. This airplane is a lot of fun; especially the water operations/fire fighting aspect.

But in all honesty, I was frustrated that there is no manual on How To Fly and work this aircraft. Well, I found a great video online by Howard Forder. Link is below.

Jorge and Jayne…bring back Howard Forder to do instructional videos when MSFS 2024 releases in Nov as he and Jayne did with MSFS 2020. Those videos/instruction were very helpful.

I agree very nice tutorials there.

By the way, is there any way to bind a key/button to water drop and water probes operations ?
I didn’t find any.

PS: this plane is a master piece, I can’t wait to do some fire fighting missions in MSFS2024 next month :slight_smile:

Only if you use something like SpadNext. It doesn’t look like there are any bindings through the MSFS 2020 controls options.

Also Roland find it for use with Mobiflight as well.

Preset name : Waterdrop CT_415
Code : (>IE:INSTRUMENT_HANDLING_Yoke_Switch_WATERDROP_L)
Description : Button on Yoke to release the water load over a fire
1 = pushed
0 = released

:wink:

Thank you for the kind words. I have developed a new lesson called “Water Bombers” in MSFS 2024 and it will premier tonight on my Twitch channel. I will be making it into a YouTube lesson in the days to follow, although I will reduce it from 2.5 hours to something more manageable.
That lesson will feature both water bombers in MSFS 2024, The AT-802 Air Tractor, and the CL-415 Super Scooper. It won’t focus on the depth of my usual lessons, but rather how to scoop and drop water. The lesson is mostly demonstration and group multiplayer doing scoops and drops in California, a nod to the brave aviators round the clock. Catch it on Twitch VOD if you miss it or wait for the YouTube version.
Thank you for your interest.
Sharing our love of all things Aviation.
