Brief description of the issue:
The DG 1001E’s avionics batteries die after roughly 1 hour usage each. Both batteries were depleted in 2:16 mins when they should have a real life runtime of >14 hours apparently. Also, since, the emergency gear handle is modelled but not implemented, this makes the gear impossible to extend.

Detailed steps to reproduce the issue encountered:
If you want both batteries to die, you’ll have to fly for about 2 hours and 15 minutes. Once they do, the gear are stuck in whatever position you leave them.

YES

I didn’t time it but the first cross-country flight I did in the DG1001 was a bit over two hours, and my avionics shut down after the first hour and I had to swap to the second battery, and landed before the second one depleted. This is ridiculously short, given glider flights in summer can be 6+ hours and there’s no risk of a reasonable battery being discharged prior to that, let alone two

I don’t know whether there’s benefits in separating issues into these kinds of bug reports rather than a big feedback thread - as long as the issues get captured (not by us the community, but they end up in front of the product managers and devs)
Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
Yes. Battery lasts about an hour, and then you must switch to the backup. Emergency landing gear release is not modeled, so if you deplete the backup battery with the gear up, you are forced to belly land.

Glider flights of five or more hours are not unusual. I’m a RL glider pilot with several 5+ hour flights.
