errr… I just can’t rotate the globe at the world map
Just downloaded everything on XBOX without any issues, and I just now finished all the MP updates.
Oddly enough I had to reset the assist, but no big deal
I am not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I have to say the flight model of the F/A18 is a bit odd, especially during harsh maneuvers, with the AoA jumping from 8/9° to like 23° and back (during a constant turn without any nose up input), I (very sadly) don’t have DCS (very regrettably I’m on console), but I consume a lot of DCS content, and while I’m sure a big part of it is a skill issue, the flight model seems a bit wonky compared to DCS, however DCS also has an older Hornet, so I apologise if there are some significant differences in the Flight Control Computers and aero surfaces that lead to the different flight model.
It also seems like the camera (and the sim in general) is struggling a little bit to process the speeds and maneuvers, which makes me worried for the IndiaFoxTecno F-35 which I’m eagerly waiting.
The HUD also looks odd, the edges are too blurry and very badly defined, but I think this could be mitigated by lowering the HUD brightness.
I also heard there is an AoA limit of 19° in the sim, what is this about?
Odd update! I expect big problems when this is completed.
I got the notification about mandatory update which said I should update in the store. The first couple of tries to find the update were fails. So I gave the PC a three fingered salute and rebooted. On starting msfs I moved the community and deleted the content.xml before starting the game.
By the way: why is there no option to close the game after receiving the update notification? This is a MUST so that you can stop the game loading to move the community folder before updating.
The next difference I see when I start the update - the xbox shop window shows I only have the standard edition. I did actually buy and install the Premium DL on day 1.
I shall see what happens after this huge update to “GOTY Edition” is done.
I realy am looking forward to the Reno scenery and aircraft.
Look at post just above this for the HUD fix ![]()
This is normal.
Everyone gets the “standard” once the update is done, go into Content Manager to get the extra content.
They fixed the problem of heavy use of the graphic card in the main menu while downloading so it has nothing to do with the fact that you have limited the frame…
maybe rotating your PC will do the trick… just kidding! I am downloading the update right now, will have a look at this
neither can i. looks like a bug for a few people. quite a big thing to be broken…
I don’t think one should mention DCS and the incredible work on the models , systems and especially the flight model to that of something as arcadey as the current feel of the base sim. She is pretty but a simulator she is not really.
Shame the broken ground steering in the DA40NG hasn’t been fixed.
I think the Xbox app can’t be trusted in this regard. I own the Deluxe Edition and it shows correctly in the drop-down of editions:
But no matter which option I choose, it tells me it’s “installed” and I can “play” it. Of course, it’s the same base game no matter which one you have. I simply can’t download the Premium Deluxe content because I don’t own it, but the Xbox app doesn’t really understand it properly… ah well.
thanks to confirming! That was fast to find a bug and we even haven’t started up a flight ![]()
Crash city. won’t update fully.
PACO572
Maybe that’s the flat earth update people were asking for? ![]()
I’m not 100% sure we’re speaking about the same thing, but I believe the DA40 does NOT have nose wheel steering in real life, whereas it has/used to have it in the sim.
If they decided to update that plane at some point and make it more realistic, they may have removed the nosewheel steering. If that’s the case, you’ll need to use differential braking (and have patience, it’s tricky).
Check out this mod if you frequently fly the DA40NG. I think he also added nosewheel steering:
Same here.
On PC version the option to remove the HUD display on fullscreen has disaperad, also I cant find how to remove all the information when flying showing airports etc. DX12 is completely a mess right now and should have not been implemented yet.
Yes they’re aware of this bug. They stated they will fix things asap post launch since there wasn’t a true long duration beta testing this time around
Finally got the update detected, but only after going into Settings > Apps, choosing the MS Store and telling Windows to Terminate it along with its processes:
After that, re-opened the app and the update started. Could just be random due to timing. I’ve rebooted 3 times in the last 1.5 hours to no avail (and I have fast-boot disabled so it wasn’t like a hibernate-style reboot), and logged out of the Store and Xbox app a few times.
Either way, we’re off the mark… no matter whether by luck or by judgement… ![]()
Probably why its flagged as Beta and off by default
