Discussion + Poll: World Update X: United States and US Territories (1.26.5.0)

I broke 230 while installing WUX in the content manager. Nice to see they’re getting that part of the delivery system unforked. I was getting tired of the sub 20 Mbit downloads I had for months and months on my gigabit fibre connection.

Wow, that example is pretty substantial…

Thanks a million, Seedy.

Found it there.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Glad they did USA revamp. I had purchased several third party scenery add-ons from the market place (like Washington DC scenery), but had immediate issues with CTDs from those add-ons on my Xbox. Hopefully, this new WU replaces those and I can uninstall those third party ones to get better performance when flying through those areas. Will need to test though.

Man, I was hoping map was updated in my area. The community I live in still displays land with construction objects while another land still shows the farm that was sold then turned to a housing project.

Why does the update for “Nordic” only gets “partially installed” ?

Darn, my view of my property in NJ still shows the one time my wife mowed the lawn…

Bug.
It doesn’t install a landing challenge.

We have several smokestacks that have been removed over the last 7 years and that’s about where I can best date the age of the the photogrammety North of Boston as it clearly shows the beginning of deconstruction of our old power plant. The new one is up and running and has no stacks.

First impressions …

I downloaded the updates in the content manager and WU10 in the market.
I cleared the cache and restarted the simulator with the empty community folder.
I don’t notice any difference in the landscapes of New York and Seattle.
Most bridges are still solid walls.
There still being trees taller than buildings.
I’m going to make use of my plugins to partially mitigate these flaws.

Stuttering on takeoffs and landings that is only fixed by toggling developer mode on and off is still present.

A little disappointed.

Me too.
And that’s why I’m gonna re-install third party scenery such as Vegas, NY, Seattle, Miami.
Even L. A. is just the same old L. A.

That’s a long time. The condo we live in completed build in 2018 and the houses that took over the farm was completed couple years before ours (4 years). Everything in MSFS map and bing map on bings site are up to date though.

Why is the installation of World Update X dependant on having the awful default B748-I installed on your system. Surely Asobo knows that everyone on PC uninstalls their default terrible airliners.

I admit, I thought I was the only one who struggles to recognize what is updated. Its easy to find the new poi’s but I struggle to recognize the updates to satellite imagery and elevation data in many locations. I think I just forget what it looked like before

Thank you for the update. Please add Dallas, Texas. It is the 4th largest metro area in terms of population in the U.S. and has no photogrammetry.

Hey there, @DG22222 … welcome back to the forums! Not sure when it will happen, but I would imagine it will. In the meantime, lots of other locations to check out and enjoy.

Again, welcome back!

I’ve been flying around the areas I’m familiar with and can’t find much if any difference to how it was before. This shot is flying around Mount St Helens. Its still the same green washed out aerial imagery from before the update. The DEM possibly has improved but if it has its very marginal.

There is a whole lot of downloading for not much that I can see so far. WUX = meh, IMO.

When we got new DEM and aerial imagery with the Swiss and German update there was a very noticeable difference. The Swiss alps in particular were like night and day different with before and after. I’d really love to know what and where has been updated with this because its clearly not everywhere.

Just wondering if some folks that can’t detect a difference may have rolling cache enabled? I know it’s a huge longshot, but thought I would throw it out there.

Also, terrain LOD setting could make a difference… maybe?

Note: I’m at work and haven’t had a chance to see the differences for myself so please forgive me if I’m way off base.
