No rolling cache for me and TLOD at 400, the way it has been for months. But, good suggestion.
No I donât have it enabled so thats not the issue.
Asobo, why do you release updates for MSFS on Windows update days? Otherwise, everything went smoothly here. No CTDs after an hour of flying. Download was still throttled to 260Mbit/s though. I have 1Gbit, Iâd like to max that out ;-). Oh yeah, after restarting MSFS, the point-of-interest were also automatically downloaded and installed for me. I didnât have that yet. Thanks for the World Update.
I DREAD UPDATES!
Now VR is unusable.
After a few nice days in a row of enjoyable bush flying, a dreaded MSFS update comes along.
All is well loading MSFS, turning on my controller, and VR headset. Then I initiate a new leg of my latest bush flight and the VR view is bouncing around so much annoying became dizziness. As I tried to prep the flight I had a solid airport/scenery background while the interior of the plane bounced around.
Now between the time waiting for the mandatory update, then trying to unsuccessfully solve the mess by restarting MSFS, restarting the VR and restarting the laptop, I have lost my flying time for the day. I only had time to type this rant.
I still have to wonder if my controls will be messed again like happened on the last dreaded update.
Arlington, Texas (home of two major sports teams) or Arlington, Virginia? And I thought San Diego already had photogrammetry? Definitely looking forward to checking out Eugene though, one of my best friends lives there.
Did todays Win 10 update do antyhing to the gameplay in FS2020?
I had the same problem. It was fixed by restarting the simulator.
So looking forward to Africa, Latin America, West and South Asia, Eastern Europe. Now, I suppose Ill have to find out which paywares and freewares conflict⌠Well, at least that gives me ideas for flights.
We have entertaining days ahead⌠![]()
I think Asosbo wrecked KSFO, it looks terrible now, time to go shopping
FlightBeam has âKSFO: Captainâs Editionâ currently in full production. High quality developer, something to look forward toâŚ
Wow..CTD while updating stuff in content manager. Thatâs a first for me. I havenât even downloaded the WU in marketplace yet.
Exit game & restart. It should then download from content manager.
Not sure if this is new, but I find trees, very, very (!!!) blurry at the moment. Also, shadows looks pixelated, orâŚmaybe more like dotted. Is everything in the map more lo-fi? Might be meâŚ
Since the world update is separate, then the mandatory update of 2,6 GB is that only these things? Seems inefficient.
I guess it is good, but surprising, that some bugs are (said to be) fixed in this update. Luckily itâs downloading quite quickly here.

I was flying over the Rockies earlier today, completely unaware that there was a new WU being published, when I noticed a sudden significant improvement to the mountain scenery after a couple of (short) freezes, very much like the DEM improvements weâve seen in the past.
Note that I hadnât installed WUX at that point, but Iâm guessing I was getting ânewâ scenery as I was going along. Is this actually possible?
Iâm currently downloading WUX plus the Content Manager updates - unfortunately my download speeds are still less than half of my supposed connection speed so itâs taking itâs time. Itâs getting pretty late here in the UK so I wonât be able to check for improvements until tomorrow.
Edit: itâs just finished but looks like WUV:Nordics wonât update, give it another go tomorrow. Gânight all.
Arlington, Texas.
It did.
They added Simplified Chinese translations which - to my understanding and if memory serves right - required them to rewrite all âtext functionsâ to support Unicode (instead of the previous â8bit per characterâ text encoding, presumably some âWindows-1252 text encodingâ).
As this probably affects most code units this essentially generates an âall new binaryâ (including all shared libraries), which would explain the larger download size.
