I will be sharing the production process, photographs, and videos related to several cockpits I have built previously and my ongoing project. I hope this information will be useful for your DIY cockpit endeavors.
I’ll be posting videos of my flights in the cockpit I built, and also videos related to flight simulators.
Using jet fighters and helicopters in MSFS2020, I enjoy flying around between buildings, imagining under bridges and buildings as pylons, and I do it frequently.
Because my English is not fluent, I’m relying on AI translation for my posts.
I guess the whole sharing of manufacturing started from here :
And currently at this stage with your brand new yoke project :
I love that quadrant, very nicely done! I’ve been looking for something that has rudder trim, parking brake, and fuel selectors in addition to the typical gear, throttle axes, flaps, and elevator trim.
I have made two units that are very similar to this model. This is a photo of them side by side. The unit on the right was custom-made for a customer, and the one on the left was made for my personal use.
The three instruments on the left unit are dummies.
I built this unit in 2017, referencing the flight deck of a Beechcraft King Air. Subsequently, I performed maintenance and customization in 2020 and 2024, respectively. This video was filmed after the 2024 customization.
On the USB connection area, are your electronic boards design fully own made, or mostly picking existing sub boards and only adding missing components ?
These two units both utilize the BU0836X USB controller.
In addition to the BU0836X, the unit on the right also includes an Arduino for GEAR LED control
Thanks for your answers @k5w2gf7g4f9d, currently watching some of your videos through the links you’ve provided ![]()
This is a video of a customization that integrates an Arduino to control GEAR LEDs. The video shows a BU0836A, but it was later replaced with a BU0836X in a subsequent customization.
Thanks for sharing. I have the tools just not your skill level. Keep up the GREAT work and PLEASE keep on sharing your work here.
This is a video of me piloting a jet fighter with a homemade cockpit and passing through the Eiffel Tower, the Grande Arche, and the Arc de Triomphe one after another.
This is a Cockpit yoke that I made 25 years ago, in the year 2000.
The pipe that serves as the base for the yoke handle is a frame from a camping chair. It has been significantly simplified to make it easier to build.
This compilation includes photos from when I created the cockpit and the only surviving footage of it being operated. Please note that the video portion is over 20 years old, so the picture quality is not very good.
This flight simulator steering tiller unit utilizes a genuine Boeing 747 steering tiller handle.
This video demonstrates the process of building a steering tiller unit for flight simulators, incorporating an actual B747 steering tiller handle.
