I’m using the Nvidia app with profile set to K with a 4070 TI Super with 572.83 driver. No issues here and excellent performance. No need for Nvidia inspector.
May try the same, I’m seeing preset E with version 310.1 using inspector.
the problem is that the MFG does not activate either x3 or x4
DLSS and MFG are impressive technologies that can certainly improve FPS. But to your point, at what expense? DLSS and MFG fall into the “no free lunch” category of cheats that improve FPS at the expense of visual quality. Anyone who doesn’t understand that is in for a rude awakening when they flip the switch on DLSS and discover that their previously crystal clear 4K panel is now barely readable. And no, improving the prescription on your glasses won’t help the panel look better. It will only make the visual degradation when using DLSS all the more obvious.
MSFS 2020 and 2024 are massively graphics intensive games. They have to be in order to produce the stunning visual quality that is there. Because of that, your graphics card has to be pretty stout to be able to deliver that quality at respectable FPS. DLSS and MFG don’t improve the power under the hood. They merely lighten the load by reducing visual quality.
Same card as you how do you select preset K?
Nvidia app is not letting me says unsupported for this setting.
I’m on latest drivers and on su2 beta. Everyone seems to be getting different things, lol.
What card?
I can’t select any preset on the app with my 4070ti super.
Edit, oh yeah you have same card, weird?
Yes, RTX 40470 TI Super here. What version of the app do you have? Mine is 11.0.3.218.
I installed app today so would be the latest, not at pc now to check the version.
Off topic, but I find I’m getting some really good fps in the high 70s/80s flying GA like the 172.
That’s with 150 lods, DLSS quality, 4k , ultra/high settings and not using any frame gen. Pretty pleased with that, decent card!
If you have Inspector uninstall it, then install the 572.83 driver with the app (clean install) and check if the option shows up. It only showed up for me after I clean installed the driver with the app.
Oh ok, yeah I downloaded and installed driver from website, and then decided to install the app later on separately. I will try that next time then. Thanks
Finally got back to the sim, in the end I didn’t need to clean install driver, suddenly showed up in nvidia app, pc restart must have fixed it.
Removed inspector app and changed both settings to latest in nvidia app and getting the same version as yourself.
So yep no need for any other program, just use the nvidia app.
Thanks
Is this a known issue? It keeps going back to Frame Gen 2X and then every time I attempt to change it to 4x I get freeze frame in Full Screen until I restart the sim. It’s been present in every SU 2 beta to include 1.4.11.0.
I should have mentioned, RTX 5080 so I’m not sure why I can change it to 4x.
I don’t think > 2X for MFG is active yet in the SU2 Beta. When it is, it will ideally be mentioned in the release notes, but if not someone will likely stumble across it working and will hopefully report back here with such success.
Thanks for reaching out. That was only conclusion as well. I was surprised they didn’t lock it to 2x in that case, but even 2x is a massive improvement.
Does this have to be activated by the MSFS Team? 3x or 4x is still not working.
yes not to me and I have a 5090… let’s wait for the next dev to see what they say…also because the x3 or the x4 could be the turning point for fps…
I have a 4090 playing in 4K DLAA native, no frame gen, ULTRA settings with fps capped at 60. Super smooth. Why would you need 4x frame generation on a 5090 for this game and how would it be a “turning point” ?
because I personally would like to play with maximum settings…and since I have a 57 inch 8k monitor I personally need it…
