With my 4080 I only use Frame Generation with TAA. Does this new DLSS version also be beneficial for me regarding improved performance?
So has anyone actually seen any improvements of any kind after swapping out the DLL?
for Store users, it’s located in C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_1.30.12.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe or whatever your version is. However, the Windowsapps folder is hidden and you have to have Admin rights to replace the file. That’s the biggest ordeal till now.. no matter what I fiddle around with user rights and despite all the good advice I find online… can’t get the new file in that folder… If anyone has a great idea, I am open for suggestions
In the windows search bar type explorer options (eng) or opties voor verkenner (dutch)
Go to this tab sheet.
Shhhhhh. Don’t be coming here with common sense questions like that
Hehe im really curious as I replaced it with the version before this and saw no difference at all
Not anything particularly glaring. Other than worse visuals at night reading cockpit text. Overall, the purpose of this thread is to also ascertain if some users who othwerwise had performance and crashing issues before, may see improvements. As the patch notes allude to those fixes.
No, I can see the folder. But lthe complete folder has read and execute rights only…
I installed the new 3 dlls (with the swapper tool, works great, also for other games) and also this one
the log file indicates that the DLAA hook works fine. I also set the ini file to quality as default. I see in dlls mode some difference in the sim but not much.
The FPS is the same. Does someone now how too tweak this settings?
i tried it yesterday and didn’t notice any significant improvements. I didn’t notice any degradation either though.
Also no changes detected.
Tried it now, same here
Works for me on an RTX 2060.
Tried searching for the mythical RTX 2/3x frame unlock hack but seems to have disappeared.
Seems a little sharper, but not in a bad way no matter what lighting.
Still waiting for dlss3 to work in VR. I think that finally it won’t be possible. No news at all.
DLSS3 wouldn’t bring much in VR. Every reproduction is better.
There is new version 3.1.1 V2…
I dont know is that the cause, but i did swap my 2.4.2 DLSS for 3.1.1. and was able to hit 90fps with my pico4. ok, there was some glitches with OXR toolkits forveated rendering, but i just disabled it. I dont know. So in future, i will fly in VR with MSFS´s DLSS super resolution option. Image was clear and all the steam meters was 100% readable.
The revision number and DLSS 3 are two different things. DLSS 3 is another algorithm.
I thought is something weird with Nvidia and Microsoft when they suppose to release the sim update 11 but just went silence and then nvidia release 4090 with double frame rate for msfs2020 as a first promotion video, what a coincidence. Feel bad for those who spend 2k for nothing for VR. Im having a pretty smooth experience with the 3080ti, no openxr toolkit. I thought is a joke if you have 4090 and still have to use that, Im not even use that. I think the game need to be optimized not our hardware. At this moment if you have trouble dont set your settings to ultra as is not needed or simply no one can avoid the bugs right now with the sim. Got to say thanks for this thread. Since then it have made alot of other games run better too.
