You clearly then have a lot of inside knowledge about how XP12 will turn out especially since the beta has not yet even launched!
Maybe you know more than probably 95% of simers and maybe more even than the developers themselves. The product/marketing videos may give us an idea but only just that.
For the rest of us, less privileged than your good self, I suppose that we will just have to wait and see
It will be released as beta, they even said weather is not finished will take few version to get it done. Xp12 is Xp11 on stereoid, the terrain is the most lacking if you don’t care about, I means it’s generic texture for most part of the world, they even said coastline/road need lots of works, all in interview. As any flight sim, don’t expect all in, but wait wait and wait, flight sim is just pain to do, just reduce expectation.
I don’t think that’s a very good comparison. Instead of focusing on a single handcrafted 3D model that both sims have, the camera needs to move forward to where the city is, and then you’ll start seeing the massive difference between the visuals. Even in the distance the autogen looks pretty bad compared to the MSFS screenshot.
Does it really matter?
No one is expecting XP12 to look better than MSFS in any aspect. Judging by the picture we can say XP12 visuals are certainly an improvement over XP11. It would be pretty silly to expect inaccurate autogen to ever beat MSFS’s photogrammetry. That is quite obvious seeing the extra buildings being populated in the XP12 picture where MSFS has trees.
From what ive seen of the trees in XP12, they are just as sparse as xplane 11. Thats why you see the buildings between them. I know you cant see my house from the air. Lol or the whole block for that matter. But I’ll agree the models have always looked fine in Xplane, ill hold m6 vote when i see the ground textures and coastlines theyve been toting as improved, but also refrained from showing.
I remember flying in FS98 thinking that was the greatest game ever, and it was, back then. The thing took up a whole 100MB on my hard drive.
This game is going to have bugs for a while and be unplayable for some, but realize this is a multiple platform game, that caters to all kinds of simmers, from the serious to the casual gamer who has no clue how to do a thing except take off and fly around.
So, getting the bug fixed for your particular niche might take a while. Just give it time.
So two years isnt enough time already? Come on this is total BS I downgraded my graphics from 4k to 1080 yesterday. Guess what I still am getting the same miserable performance Ive getting for quite a few months now. The only exception to that is that 2 days ago I was actually getting 26fps in 4k on 55" monitor.
This morning on my 32" 1080 monitor 7:00 am eastern all the sim will do is a measly 10-12 fps, really? I downgrade and the thing still doesnt run for C***.
Im starting to think that the reason for the delay of su10 is because thats when they will be able to update the servers / network again. The same thing happened a while back, things were getting really slow for people they delayed an SU. In the meantime the trade journals are documenting the growning pains of the Azure network with an estimated time of upgrade for the network about the same time as the su was delayed…
It runs poorly on your system. Its running fine on mine. That’s what we need to figure out, not throw generalized things against the wall and hope it sticks.
I don’t use this sim much because I am waiting for non scenery items to get updated. But the scenery is very nice overall and scenery isn’t as important for me. That said, the default airports are very good and the overall look of the scenery is pretty amazing. I have no performance issues but very few third party addons and no mods. Live weather still needs some help. It’s a 10 year project but I think it will be pretty solid in a year or two.
I figured it out, Quantum Entaglement…when you have way to many wires all strung together, and electrons start bleeding across the wires…So I cleaned up the wiring, and then I put the PC on a whole different circuit then the monitor and the other machine.
And you know what I fired up the sim and it was actually running pretty good, so I hooked up the 4k and start again and still running good, turned everything off, ran some errands, came back started up the machine, the sim … naw that wasnt it back to 12 fps Blahhhhhh
If your asking me … neither, gpu / cpu will bounce yellow for a second, and then back to green. Never seen it go red when I was having the issue or any other time for that matter.
I’m enjoying MSFS a lot. The visuals are amazing, the weather is impressive and I own the Flysimware C414 and the PMDG737. I’m not sure what there is not to like. …except floatplanes
Hm Cyberpunk… Cyberpunk was fine it ran fluid without graphics card and had no bugs (except in one building grass was growing on the hardwood floor but I was too lazy to contact CD Project Red because Cyberpunk is normally not the genre I play and get truly immersed - only fantasy, real sci-fi, or horror).
Hm there is one thing I really dislike about Flight Sim. I am now absolute sure I want to fly gliders or motor-gliders in real-life but I am sure this is expensive as hell. Maybe not as expensive as the PPL but not cheap either.
Am I the only one who notices that movements are in slow motion? When you flip a switch, you can feel just a small delay. It’s very obvious when you flip the fuel levers on the Kodiak. You click them and they move in slow motion. In comparison in X-Plane, when you click a switch it’s instant - no delay. It really bothers me but I see no mention of it on these forums. I still enjoy flying the sim, (although I admit I enjoy X-Plane more in many ways). Along with the “delays” in FS, the entire flying experience still feels rubbery. The graphics are of course beautiful, which I’m thinking is the cause for the rubbery feeling compared to the other sims. The new Milviz 310 is the first plane I truly enjoy flying in FS as much as X-Plane. So there is hope for me with FS. As of this weekend, the 310 has been CTD constantly mid-flight - so there is certainly work that needs to be done.
