Do you land…inside or out

Inside, VR.
I sim for immersion, so the only time I see the outside is from the inside, or if I’m slewing around trying to build scenery, or making a livery!!
Though I love peeking out the window, not on short final

Always inside when landing. Sometimes I’l enjoy the cinematic view when trimmed or on autopilot.

Always inside.
So I can keep an eye on the speed.
And it’s more realistic

Totally agree with the dials - I got the free version of Sim Dashboard (on a tablet) and added altitude and compass so I didn’t have to keep looking down and leaning into my monitor or flipping to the external view. Flying all the way from London to Australia in my steam Cub (picked for cockpit visibility) would’ve been a pain otherwise.

Always inside

i really dont want to sound like the flightsim-police but, it wouldnt even come to my mind to fly or land the plane from the outside-view. This is not GTA, but if one wants to play it like GTA, theres nothing wrong with that…

Started out outside when I first got it but have come inside now for more immersion although I wish I could set my camera so I could switch views around the plane on xbox without a keyboard or pulling up that raggedy menu.

Tend to enjoy the JMB because of the excellent cockpit view.

Landing outside always seems “wrong” but I also don’t get the same feeling when staying inside in the simulator as I do when I land a real plane. (Cessna 172)

I guess because there is so much happening when you land a “real” plane including what your body is feeling and the sounds that are not quite the same as when landing inside in the simulator. When landing a “real” plane you feel the wheels touching down and hear the sound of them hitting the tarmac. Depending on the situation you are also probably sweating and saying a silent prayer the you “made it”. Not quite the same. FWIW

I stand on the Tail of the Plane, I have to straps attached to the elevators and I ride it on like a horse…that is when Im not riding a H bomb to target! yeehaw …

Defiantly inside…

always inside! the replays watch outsides xd

I fly in VR so always inside

Crickey there’s some judgmental posts on this thread.

RemoteSaturn. You fly MSFS just how you **** well want to. It’s yours to do what you want with, do as you please and I’ll applaud. :+1: :vulcan_salute:

Personally in previous sims I used to do both depending on my whim at the time. In MSFS I land exclusively from the cockpit…however, when Asobo sort out the camara controls and implement a decent playback/record feature I may well land from the outside.

So for me: inside for take off and landing (ATM) and outside often and whenever I fancy a good view of myself flying my Beautiful Caravan.

In a simulator, we always land while inside the cockpit to SIMULATE how the real pilots do it

Inside! but use protection!.. I mean, seatbelts and safety procedures… You don’t want accidents to happen :stuck_out_tongue:

I have spread hundreds of millions of dollars of Citation Longitude debris across the great State of California while learning to master this aircraft… in many cases I was glad I was on the outside at the time. :slightly_smiling_face:

Buy a bigger screen  When I was using a super ultrawide 49" I found the vertical too narrow and the instruments hard to read. Went 55" 4K TV and everything is essentially life sized now.

In or out, your choice. But I tend to “feel” the aircraft better from inside. My mental state can begin to “feel” what’s going on better from inside better than outside. I can land from outside with all the instruments necessary on screen, but outside view I use mostly for looking around planet Earth.

Always inside. Would be hard landings for sure from outside.

I enjoy more FS as a simulator than a game.

The only time I’m outside of the plane is when in drone mode to capture screenshots, otherwise it’s inside. Not sure I would enjoy trying to land outside as it would seem more inconvenient getting properly lined up and on the glide slope for a final approach.

I’ve always got my eyes closed, so unsure if I’m in or out. I’m the Schrödinger pilot.
Always nicely surprised when I’m not crashing.
