Does editing the camera.cfg make sense yet?

I spent a lot of time editing the correct cockpit eye height, now i am afraid that’s gonna get overwritten with every patch that comes.

I changed mine 3 patches ago and it hasn’t been overwritten once.

Why don’t you save it somewhere and then replace it if it is changed?

A sigh of relief echoes through my room.

In order to put back a folder into the right folder with so many planes edited you have to save entire subfolders, but that might also overwrite things that have been patched.

No you don’t. Just copy camera.cgf onto say the desk top. If the cameras are changed in any update, just copy your saved camera.cfg into the aircraft folder. I do it with the a320 every time the mod is updated because I have my own wing views.

you can create the whole subfolder structure down from “Official” to all the planes and just have the camera.cfg in each folder. As soon as a patch comes you simply copy this one folder with all its subfolders back and it will overwrite only the camera.cfg files.
Also: you can create your own mod for the community folder for all the airplanes. A little more work, but you could keep it in the community folder.
