Does MSFS2024 actually work for anyone?

Positive experience for me. Took a bit of patience, but eventually got to the config, set up the minimum of control bindings and went for a flight. Didn’t count how many planes were there, but a fair number to get started. Sorted a control issue, tried vr, everything seemed to be working pretty well. Then it crashed on exiting to the desktop…

They deserve this

For me , to get in Photo mode was shift+V and then to exit, lower left bottom of the screen there was a small box “EXIT”.

had a few good shots before I left because I only had one aircraft in the game , the ATR… lol

Thanks I’ll look for that.
Nice shots you had taken

Honestly, it looks amazing in 4K and it was silky smooth. Can’t wait to try VR

Curious, when folks have gotten in… was it after waiting in the que, or when generaly starting the game. Update: Had the Que going in the background, nice tune, and heard a blip, and checked to see it showing the trailer, and downloading. Some progress…

Mine was right away after launch this morning.

One quick ride in the yellow Cessna at kewr, locked up, reload and ended up in the six+ hour Queue.

Complete disaster of a release.

Makes sense, queueing lets you converse with other folk and help you forget your day!

Sure, after a few tries, it loaded. There were maybe 20 aircraft to choose from. I flew the 172 (I know boring) around the Northern California area for about 20 minutes. When you go to the store, the additional content that you may have paid for is listed as “N/A”, so what you want to fly may not be there. Also, I was hoping for a massive upgrade in graphics and it just wasn’t there. Things looked a little flat and maybe not even as good as MSFS2020.

IT’S DOWNLOADING! YEA!

No it’s just 2%

16% now. Fingers crossed it doesn’t stall at 97% like it did almost 8 hours ago.

I’m in! But premium deluxe planes are nowhere to be found :upside_down_face:

I was finally able to get in and do 45-60 minutes of flying around my local area. At the third airport I stopped at to re-fuel, it CTD.

After re-launching, I’m back at the >Login Queue. Too many users are trying to connect at the same time…

If they had upped the capacity of the servers anticipating this kind of network traffic, the experience would have been better. Not really a problem with the flight simulator itself, but of the hardware that it is hosted on…

I hope you don’t get this view after downloading

Yes, seen that a couple of times today. I was able to do some flying in 2024, but after a CTD, I restarted 2024, and now I see the Login queue screen.

They need to expand the server farm hosting 2024 so we don’t have to wait on server farm limitations.

Got in. Able to do some set up, and fly abit. More progress!! Trying to get TrackIR running. Restarted and in the Que again

They probably got to the point where they just said We will see what it does on day 1. Then just patch it when we find out what’s wrong.

I’m in. The download completed.
