So basically I just got a new PC and have been playing on Xbox. Do I have to buy Msfs again on PC and buy back all my add-on content or is it possible to avoid that?

Yes, it does transfer. You won’t even have to buy the sim since it falls under Microsoft/Xbox “Play anywhere” feature.
Let me rephrase that. I did a poor job.
When you buy MSFS from the MS Store (via PC or Xbox), you can use it on either platform interchangeably. You don’t have to repurchase it. You just can’t be logged into two locations at the same time.
I used it this way to switch between my Xbox and my PC when I used both platforms.
All the Marketplace purchases you make on either platform will work on either platform provided the item is compatible with both platforms. Since you’re going from Xbox to PC, you won’t have any issues with that since all the items on the Xbox Marketplace are also compatible with the PC. The reverse is not always the case, however.

Just like he said, I also wanted to add that any marketplace items also transfer over so long as they have a PC version on that item as well. So you do not have to repurchase your marketplace items as well.
