Dreadful performance

It is a relief to see other user of 7th Gen Intel CPU also experiencing similar issues, high CPU, low GPU usage - hopefully given the numbers experiencing the issue Microsoft will resolve issue quickly

Hello David, do you mind telling me what CPU usage you got on the beta compared to release please?

Be cautious, NDA still in effect regarding discussion of alpha/beta.

I feel for you, I really do. Reading all the reports on here there’s evidently something radically wrong but it’s weird that some are affected but not others. The fact that it’s a problem for so many hopefully means it’ll be top priority to fix. Fingers crossed

Before listing this i felt I was i
The only one with the issue. I didn’t see anything km Facebook so it’s ( In a strange way ) a relief to see I’m not on my own with it… I feel for those currently that have purchased a brand new rig force the sim.
The reinstall will take a while longer but I’ll report back any findings..

Even panning around in an outside view is just stuttery, I thought with low settings it would be perfect, but changes nothing for me. Very disappointed so far as unable to use the sim in its true glory

During the alpha/beta testing, my CPU usage averaged 80-90 in high-traffic and dense areas. Now it often pegs 100 and stays there. I’ve noticed that any usage of SimConnect makes the problem far worse. I’m a big fan of Little Navmap, which uses SimConnect, and now I can’t use it. But even without SimConnect, my performance has degraded tremendously using identical settings and identical hardware. I’ve switched nVidia drivers back and forth, but that has no effect for good or bad.

Thank you, just like yourself my CPU stays at 100% for a long time, it is not a temporary spike.

I even tried setting everything – resolution, settings, traffic, etc. everything – to the lowest possible settings. It made absolutely no difference whatever to the stuttering, though FPS did of course improve.

What I find so difficult to understand is why this only shows up in the final, commercial version. I would very happily take the performance of the Alpha version I was using six months ago – happily!

Very strange, but hopefully that means fixing the issue shouldn’t be too difficult?! I don’t know, I suppose I will just have to use P3D for the time being

For what it’s worth - I’m on i7-3700K, 12GB RAM and GeForce 980 running off an SSD and even in windowed mode at 1980x1080 scaled to 70% it runs absolutely abysmally. Easily between 8 and 20 FPS max. I know it’s a rather ancient PC but I don’t have such major issues with literally any other game.

I wasn’t exactly expecting to be able to run on ultra but I also wasn’t expecting to not be able to run on the very lowest settings on the lowest resolutions. Something doesn’t look right.

Same here, i5 7500 is not the greatest CPU around, but I was able to play P3D - FSLabs, X-Plane without these long periods of 100% CPU. Now my 2070S is only being utilized 40% of the time!

That’s why cloud gaming is the future - to allows you play using highest settings without changing your pc every year… I hope they will release xCloud on PC in the near future.

I even get stutters at 640x480 Low Settings :see_no_evil_monkey: I5 4670k at 4 Ghz, 32 GB Ram and a GTX 1070 Ti

Have an i5 9400f 32gb ram, rtx2060. Ran fine on the alpha build during testing with only small stutters occassiinly. Have all my graphic settings the same as before but performance is terrible with huge pauses in any detailed rates like Sydney. Even less detailed areas have pauses. A couple of differences I noticed, the buildings are more detailed, and my CPU is at 100% most of the time and this was not a problem before. Limiting the sim to 30 frames drops CPU and gpu usage, has little graphics loss, but the pauses remain. Its puzzling something that worked so well, now works so badly.

In my case it was the V-Sync / limiter. I run a gtx1660 super. Went from 20 fps with stutter to 50fps on high end settings.

My theory is that it is caused by the terrain streaming which 50.000 people on steam alone are using at the same time. Performance will get better once the hype starts to die down again and the ā€œcasualsā€ move on to the next title..

But then wouldn’t that cause problems on all computer rigs? It seems strange to me how any issues caused by ā€œstreamingā€ the data would only affect a specific hardware type?

Same here guys, I have i5 7600 K, 2070 super, 16 gb ram and 1440p

I also have a 2070 Super but now due to the high CPU it is only being utilised 40% of the time
