Did you flip the switch on the panel in front of you? You might need to set a keybinding to it. (I didn’t bother yet, but the switch worked fine).

yes , I use a gamepad and thats the X,still only gets you half of the top speed.

I tested it a bit and at 10,000 feet I got about 400 kts without it, 550 kts with it.

top speed they say is about 1400kph-ish not 550kph

I said 550 kts. Aircraft usually don’t measure in kph. Did you bother with conversion? It’s not that far off lol

Can you provide more details on what the issue you are experiencing is, please? It sounds like it could be a conversion error but your current report doesn’t have any details.

There have been crashes in the past due to mis calculated fuel.
Lb vs Kg can be a â– â– â– â– â– .

I try to speed up using the jets and blah , there is a little glow a little speed up to about 500kph and nothing more, I use a gamepad to fly on pc. max speed is about 500kph and not more., otherwise I like the ornithopter. Also found out its cancelled out some of my other controls for other jets :unamused:

I know it’s a lot to ask, but a short video showing the speed (external view with the instruments turned on I guess) would help a lot. Even screenshots might help. I’ll test mine later as well and share. I’ve broken the sound barrier in a dive, but I’m not sure if I’ve ever broken it in cruise which makes me wonder if the cruise speed indicated is actually more of a theoretical top speed in a dive.

If you’re only getting 500kph (which is 270kts) then something is definitely off. I flew across most of northern Egypt last night pretty quickly. It’s at least as fast as a fighter jet for me. I’ll post again once I get some numbers.

I meant 500 kts not kph sorry, still needs to go faster

Its cruise speed is listed at 300KTAS, which is around 555km/h. Where was the max speed you saw listed? I couldn’t find it in the announcement post or video but I might have overlooked it.

on the description, on the craft in the hanger

The only speed I see listed there is 300KTAS. You might have seen the range which is listed at just over 1400NM, which is the distance it can travel before running out of fuel.

Not that anything in the hanger should be taken too seriously…
All the Reno P51’s say their range is 298 miles. On all the ones I tested it’s 600-1000.
In fact, I daresay the cruise and range of almost ALL aircraft is inaccurate to one extent or another.

But yes, there’s no way the Ornothoper goes 1400 kts. That’s twice the speed of sound and I don’t recall sonic booms in the movies

Now while I am not Dune expert, I do have a friend who is, and all she said was the 400 to 550 kt speed was “pretty accurate.”

The only time I’ve hit the speed of sound was while hitting afterburners while also in dive configuration from high altitude. I agree that the advertised speed is roughly accurate feeling given that, IIRC, these are short to mid-range recon aircraft more than long-range high-altitude interceptors. Fastest I think we ever see them go in the films is in a freefall.

on the description its in kmh NOT kts

KTAS: Knots, True Airspeed.

open it then look at the descrptions page

You mean this? It’s still KTAS

That’s almost certainly in a dive since cruise is 300. It’s tough to imagine “max” would be nearly 3x cruise. But I could see it hitting 800 in a dive with the burners on.
