Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
yes

The 747 is like a kite. The speed is fluctuating 130-230 knots. I want to attach the link to You-Tube (not allowed) I want to upload a video (not alowed) so how I suppose to report or help with the bug??
If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:
Glad to see I’m not the only one experiencing this issue. Those that have completed with an A, Full Flaps? Speed Brake? rudder trim? Autobrake? Please give FULL settings. Thanks.
For me, I used between 7-8% rudder trim, full flaps, armed spoilers, and I left the autobrake unchanged but I applied brakes after the nose touches down. You will have to make continuous minor adjustments to stay on the glideslope. I also find it better to follow the glide slope even if you are a little high or low versus oscillating between too high and low as it is easier to correct before touchdown. I assume you are on PC with a flight stick. This challenge may require too much precision for a controller.

Yes, airspeed flicks around like crazy throughout the flight no matter the speed or how much wind gusts happen. PLEASE fix this.
Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
Airspeed jumps up and down by about 50kts, the high value seems to be the ‘real’ value while the one it jumps down to is completely false. I’ve found the airspeed jumps around on all instruments - UI in third person, FMC in first person, and even the ‘analog’ speed meter jumps.
If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:
Just did this one again, to see how it is on SU11. Gusts don’t seem to be as bad as they were at some point, but they still seem overdone a lot (around 50knots IAS change in less than half a second on the speed tape.
Same problem here. This is the only landing challenge I need to master, but as the last guy, showed, the speed changes 50 knots in a blink of an eye. I ask the developers to please fix it.
Not to brag here, but I have over 10,000 landing on big jets with FSX, P3D and MSFS. I simply can’t get a “B” rating on Dusseloff. I have A/B on every other one except for the one in the rain on the hilltop. The 747 does not act true and trying to get the roll score high is very hard. I tried the 200 kt appraoch method also and no luck. I also tried to set rudder trim but no success. The scenario is flawed.
I finally managed to do it. Using sim-update 12 beta. Still pretty tough. Looks a little bit easier, but I dont know if its a placebo. All landing challenges mastered!
Commenting so that this topic remains alive until fixed
Having the exact same problem as previously described by other pilots:
-unresponsive engines
-engines turning off for no reason (2 and 3 more specifically)
-loss of power/engine power on touchdown
-unrealistic weather behaviour, 25kts feel like you’re in a hurricane
-extremely unrealistic windshear, you simply can’t control the 747 accurately the way it is now
I’m bumping this just because the FIX is actually really dumb, this can easily qualify as bug due to being a single typo (literally a missing zero) in the game file that controls weather for this particular activity/landing challenge.
Asobo PLEASE DO A PUSH FOR XBOX USERS.
It will work only in PC version and as @KobayashiST & @GeorgeFlies mentions by just editing the Weather.WPR file with a NOTEPAD works just fine.
By doing so, the challenge becomes feasible and actually measureable as a challenge.
The main current stream of wind is set to 25kts from 300 degrees while the gust wave is set to be at an angle of “30” degrees for 45kts for a single second. But since the runway is 230 degrees course then the 30 degree gust creates this uplifting tailwind that makes it impossible to keep on glideslope (by the way, 45kts of gust tailwind wouldn’t ever be a safe landing in a 747, it is not certified for those tailwind landings and it becomes ridiculous to be in the middle of hurricane trying to execute the approach )
So to the fix itself, really easy:
Navigate to this folder: “[Install Path]\Official\OneStore\microsoft-landingchallenge-eddl-dusseldorf\Missions\dusseldorf”
Open the file named “Weather.WPR” with a notepad app like or text editor.
Edit the single line 33 where it says: GustAngle Value=“30” add another zero at the end of value “30” making it “300” so that it says: GustAngle Value=“300”
Thanks man. Incredible that this makes it past QA. Also makes you think, if its that easy to edit challenges, no wonder there are people getting near 2 million scores on hard challenges.
