Unless I’ve missed it, but has Asobo even mentioned anything new on the issue we are still getting after a year now where ground textures get broken when using DX12. Back when this was discovered in SU10, Asobo stated this was an issue that Nvidia needed to resolve and since then Nvidia has released many drivers that address MSFS issues but the problem still exists. Furthermore, even AMD graphics card users have stated the get the same issue of broken ground textures with DX12 so if true, clearly this is not an NVIDIA problem.
I mean, what’s the point of having Frame Generation if you get bad textures in the sim.
Can’t believe it’s taken over a year and still no fix on this annoying issue. Has Asobo totally abandoned DX12 on MSFS2020?
Again, I could be wrong, but it just seems like Asobo don’t even want to mention this issue and I am sure they are aware of it as many people keep reporting it.
Thanks for sharing. My setup is basically the same as yours. I will give this a try when I get home from work and report back. Only thing I have not done is drop the texture resolution.
I recently upgraded to a 4090 and 7950X3D and just started experiencing this. Extremely disappointing to see that this hasn’t been addressed in over a year and Asobo is kicking the can down the road with it. Clearing the shader cache doesn’t help permanently, and I’m not particularly willing to go back to DX11 considering FG only works on DX12.
For the love of everything holy, please fix this Asobo.
Turning airport colouring off is just as temporary as the other debug menu trick. As soon as I change between cockpit and external view the problem is there again. Also, turning colouring off makes many payware sceneries noticably worse looking, i.e colouring is added to the ground textures to make them look better.
Hello there!
I just upgraded to an RTX 4070 and was excited to run nvidia’s framegeneration, which ofc only works with DX12. And right after I made my first flight, I had the broken ground textures. But for some reason only with the FENIX A320. I tested the same spot with the PMDG B737 and Aerosoft CRJ, the bug did not appear for some reason. So I started to test some settings and for me, this one helped me out:
I can’t tell you for sure why, but for some reason this one helped me out.
Just in case someone like to test my settings:
In the FENIX App.: VSYNC + Wizard Displays activated
MSFS: VSYNC off, DX12 and FG is on
in Nvidia CP: Vsync fast (worked better for me).
QHD monitor with freesync activated.
I also did this, before running the simulator (take attention to the comment-section, because the RTX4000 series got a different folder).
What do you mean by VSYNC activated in the Fenix App? Fenix app has no Vsync. Are you talking about Display Synchronisation? If so, I was under the impression you are not supposed to have Wizard displays activated along with the other two options(Display Sync&Alternative Render).
Hi, no its not from fenix a uninstall fenix and i have the same issue, not from fenix, the problem is from dx12 still beta, they respond and the are planning fixing on FS24 , the already annouce.
JANUARY 11TH, 2024 – DEVELOPMENT UPDATE they only planning fixing on FS2024 , ist sad because the bug was started on FS2020 they must pay attention on this sooner , its a way to force you guys purchacing FS2024 . Bad comercial ideas FSTEAM, you are making the same mistakes on past, and see what is leading too, others sims is getting stronges with no purchase updates to fix bugs from other versions.
I am not saying that it’s coming from Fenix. It’s just in my case that I am only having this bug with the Fenix aircraft. Doesn’t mean the Fenix is the reason
I have a feeling this will never get fixed in 2020, I haven’t seen a single mention from asobo about this issue.
DX12 runs better than at release, and frame generation is lovely but these randomly missing textures are horrible to look at.
