Easy aircraft to fly

I want to create a activity where inexperienced people can fly in VR. So they can experience how it feels to fly an aircraft. The current plan is to fly a sort of parcour with some POI around.

If people know some other good spots to let them fly you can also let me know.

With a joystick or yoke?

For stick I’d suggest the Double Ender by Got Friends.

Great visibility. Easy to fly. Enough response to get out of trouble. Interesting model that is fun but approachable. Forgiving landings. Taxiing can be a bit tricky but I assume they will start on the runway lined up, so just full power and it will be off the ground in an instant.

The Asobo Cessna 152. It doesn’t get much easier and docile than that. The high wing design with low side windows means good POI visibility as well.

The Asobo Savage Cub is also a very easy aircraft to fly and has very good visibility. It is also very responsice and can land almost anywhere (apart from the water)

When it comes to visbility and stability in the air, nothing beats the Got Friends Edgley Optica. It’s not exactly a sexy plane, but it was built for visibility and is extremely nice if you want to go for slow sightseeing. Also it’s very easy to use but since stability was one of the main goals, it’s not as nimble as the Cub.

Last not least the Asobo Icon A5 is a strong contender in my book. Icon designed this plane to be extremely easy to fly and it has great visibility as well. Also it can land both on water and on the runway and is quite responsive

Yes this is a nice choice. With the design of the “dashboard” it’s really just like driving in the air.

I’ll have to jump back in to this one! Anyone know if this realism improvement mod is still valid (what with the latest sim updates etc)?

Thx for the answers. I will probably use the Icon A5 for now but will test the Optica in MSFS 2024 since it is not availble anymore.

Moved to Discussion Hub Aircraft that is more appropriate for this kind of topic.

The Icon remains unsteerable in the water even with the slightest wind. Otherwise it is definitely one of the easiest and most stable aircraft in the sim.

The Orbx Optica is still available (and currently at a discount). Don’t know if it’s any good but at less than 7,- bucks it’s maybe worth a try.
