EFB for iPad/Tablet

Wishing for a huge improvement;

Pls; bring the EFB as an iPad/Tablet-Application, with the possibility to link it (f.e. via an QR-Code) ingame.

For what? No words needed

Assuming you’re playing on PC, you can use a screen mirroring application like Spacedesk and pop the EFB out (right alt + click) and have it on your tablet. Certainly a native app that connected to the sim would be a lot nicer though.

In my perfect world we would have a native app running on Android or IOS which would display the EFB and the various avionics screens (based on whatever plane you’re currently flying) exactly as they’re rendered in the game, with touch support that wouldn’t take focus away from your main screen. You can sort of do this now with either screen mirroring or an external monitor but it’s a fairly clunky experience and I wish it was smoother.

Design an app for players to download and install on their phones or tablets. The app should function exactly like the onboard EFB but can be held in their hands. This is because computer monitors often lack sufficient screen space, and the EFB panel within the game can take up a significant portion of the view. The app must connect to the game in real time, displaying live data from the in-game aircraft. This will allow players to monitor and adjust settings conveniently at any time.
As far as I know, in Red Dead Redemption 2, there is a similar app that connects to the game in real time to display the player’s location and map.

I think poping the screens to separated windows is bugged right now, it’s tanking the FPS in half when I do that.

To me it almost seems weird that this doesn’t aleeady exist. Seems like a no brainer.

They’re already halfway there with the online planner, but it doesn’t link to the sim nor have all the features available in the EFB. Still useful and I assume it works on a tablet, so thought it worth posting for those that didn’t know about it:

Please please please integrate the EFB with the iPad. FltPlan Go works with MSFS2020/2024 so I can’t see why creating a native app wouldn’t be possible. Adding the EFB was a nice surprise but if you are simulating an iPad in the sim it should be able to be used IRL.

I saw some posts that mention “make it work on iPad” and I do not understand. Could you explain? I am using this with Microsoft Edge (I just assumed that I should use Edge because
 Microsoft) on my iPad and
It seems to work just fine for me. What feature is currently not working?

Ok! Do you mean “act like SimConnect” or something? If so, I upvote you right away!!

I didn’t know this was available, thanks.

Nice suggestion. However microsoft don’t want to make simbrief too redundant as it would spook third party developers and discourage them from developing add-on.

It mentions BATC but, it works for the EFB, as well.

heck, even fallout four had a pip-boy app. its not new tech. having more of the web based flight planner festures in the EFB would also be fantastic. I would settle for a terrain profile and working weather at my destination. also, the EFB approaches database seems to have different info than the data in the G1000 and Honeywell Primus

do you use Frame Gen, i think FG basically turns off when it loses focus

It already exists through a desktop application. I use Splashtopt, here is a video. Ya existe mediante aplicaciĂłn de escritorio yo uso Splashtop
