EFB Mass and Balance loading not working - "The loading of your aircraft failed, try again later"

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

In the EFB, after setting the payload for Seats, Cargo, and Fuel, the button “Load in Aircraft” gets a load circle for some seconds and then an error pops up “The loading of your aircraft failed, try again later”. Randomly it will say that loading is OK, but seats are still empty.

If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue:

Tested four (Cessna SkyCourier and Pilatus PC-12 NGX, can’t remember the former two when I first saw the issue)

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?

Yes. It’s MSFS 2024, there is nothing on community and no mods.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

Every load

REPRODUCTION STEPS

This has been tested with Pilatus PC-12 NGX, Cessna SkyCourier and a couple more I can’t remember.

  1. Go into free flight
  2. Select the aircraft
  3. Select “Configure”
  4. Go into “Fuel and Payload”
  5. Tap “Manage mass in EFB”
  6. Set your seats, cargo and fuel
  7. Tap “Load in aircraft”

Also same issue with Cessna Longitude

• Yes

• Today I had this in the TBM930. I put 4 passengers and 100 lb of cargo in the EFB, clicked to load to plane, and got the same error as the OP. My community folder is empty and the sim is completely vanilla.

• Yes

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• In the Draco X, it does this when I have a copilot loaded and removes the copilot from the load when it gives the error.

I’m having the same issue “The loading of your aircraft failed”

I will plan my flight and then set my weight and balance, most of the time I will get an error and I will then set the W&B in game.

When setting in game, I notice the aircraft drop as the weight is applied but this is not shown on the aircraft instruments or systems. I will have to input the information manually into the Garmin GTC ect.

Same here… this is getting ridiculous, sorry.

Since day one ive managed to do exactly 3 airliner flights, in more than 15h trying to do so. Everything is immense buggy.

It should have never released in this state, what a headache.

Not just ATR, seems to be All Aircraft, and the % is different after finished loaded

Hey, this may work for others. Initially I was having the same issue. After playing around for a bit, I found that if you leave the cargo slider set to 0, all other payload and fuel changes load correctly. Now this isn’t a permanent fix since it limits the use of cargo, but I just make up for that by increasing the passenger weight. Hope this helps some.

Yeah this weight and balance new system is very much broken and the UI is terrible, I dont understand why changing stuff that already works.
Just take the old msfs 2020 and apply that to the new EFB or make something more user friendly like Ini Builds EFB or any other EFB

When I input the passenger, baggage, and fuel weight data into the EFB and press the “load onto aircraft” button, I encounter the same error other users are experiencing. I’ve noticed that all weights are imported correctly except for the passenger weight. It’s as if the aircraft is ready for flight but without anyone on board, including the crew. Therefore, I find it pointless to calculate the aircraft’s performance if the passenger weight is not actually accounted for.

Yep, it’s absolutely pointless. We’re basically flying with empty aircraft or completely misscalculated parameters. TBH I’m surprised so many people didn’t notice this, which lends me to believe a lot of people is just living with it or “click 'n fly” mode.

Somewhat concerning this is yet to be officially marked as a bug, or for that matter not even noted as feedback logged. I hope we’re not discussing this two years from now.

I noted the same and I’m as afraid as you, with this and other bugs. I don’t have good expectation with this release, there are several, several errors which I see not marked or feedback logged. Most probably none of this will be tackled on next patch. I feel really disappointed with this release.

The new system is not only broken but also terribly designed. There is no single place where all the necessary information is conveniently displayed, such as ZFW (Zero Fuel Weight), minimum and maximum fuel tank capacities, empty weight, payload / max payload etc. While the previous version had its flaws, at least these crucial details were visible and easy to operate.
Now, users are left guessing.

Why do we have an “empty” tab with a MAC slider? Whoever designed this interface clearly has no real-world experience with mass and balance calculations, not even in a small aircraft like a Cessna. I am convinced that nobody tested this system thoroughly, as such glaring issues would not have gone unnoticed.

Additionally, the user experience has become more frustrating, making routine tasks unnecessarily complicated. A proper design should prioritize clarity, usability, and accuracy—none of which seem to have been considered in this update.

Cannot believe the WB options went as backwards as it did. Although I do think this new interface has the potential to be very good but it has a long way to go.

100% agree need to go back to 2020 Way of doing it (just fix the issues with that)

Same issue. Dramatic situation almost none backwards compatibility only fenix works. And in the end basic stuff like loading aircraft doesnt work. What I mess what a mess…

Looks like this is still unattended. Not sure if devs understand this but all aircraft relying on default loading functionality are in unflyable state right now due to this issue. I’m just not able to get to the simbrief OFP values.

We shared concerns with @BigCow74. I still don’t understand how this is unattended, it’s a basic operation that is able to render anything unflyable.
