I don’t recall altering any settings but when I try to take off in an airliner half way down the runway the emergency brake activates and the airliner starts going backwards with the throttle going too and fro while vibrating, the speed slider on my thrustmaster T flight stick X is also not working
can’t find an obvious problem, any suggestions as to what’s wrong - thanks
Did you check to see if you had any assistance settings on?
MSFS has a tendency to change settings without user knowledge.
thanks for your quick reply will check
checked assistance settings nothing obvious but clicked on reset to defaults just in case with apply and save but problem still exists
Noticed on the left hand display at the top TOGA when I try to take off which I never used to have, don’t seem to be able to remove it
have clicked on button at one end of the throttle and the throttles go to full power but then does the emergency stop thing again any thoughts of how to remove TOGA setting
thanks ron
What aircraft are you using?
Ensure that the assisted takeoff setting in Assistance Options is off.
In the on-screen toolbar, from the Flight Assistant icon, ensure AI Piloting and AI Piloting in Cursor Mode are both off.
trying to fly default 787-10 also have the same problem with the default A320, changed all assistance options to hard and if I don’t use Flight Director I am able to get off the ground and control flight, the slider for speed control on my thrustmaster x joystick has no effect and not working when it used to be ok ,all other buttons etc on the joystick ok
The on board flight planner does not accept any instruction I try to programme and the flight path display waypoints , distance readings etc on the screen do not show ,all I have is a very basic four digit code for my destination airport showing
my only addon I have purchased and in community folder is Just Flight Traffic which has been working ok with the sim up to my recent problems
thanks for your help with helping me get off the ground any help with my other issues much appreciated - ron
Just for a test, unplug your thrustmaster T flight stick X and fly using the keyboard and mouse. It will be difficult to fly if you aren’t used to using the keyboard. If flying now works correctly, then the problem is probably in the thrustmaster T flight stick X. Key bindings, calibrating, and stuck buttons or switches should be looked at.
All the Flight Director does is display the proper flight path on the PFD.
If you center the Flight Director bars, you will be on course and at the correct attitude.
The FD also sends signals to the autopilot which will use these signals to maintain the correct path.
The FD should always be on.
The best way to program the FMC is to create a plan in the world map planner, which will be entered in the FMC for you by the sim.
Then it is necessary to initialize the FMC and complete the FMC performance fields.
thank you Sevenflyer and PacificSet90456 for your help regarding my problems , I disconnected my thrustmaster t flight stick x, checked that it was calibrated which was ok, downloaded the latest driver for the stick and recalibrated which showed all buttons etc were working
the slider on the joystick which shows working ok in the calibration does not have any impact in controlling the aircraft speed like it used too and have no idea what I can do to restore its working
on the plus side the flight path ,waypoints , distance readings etc on the screen are now showing
the FMC on board flight planner is programmed from the world map planner, I then was able to go to the “init” screen and enter the departure / destination four digit airport code into that screen and then go into the “nav” and enter ils frequency into that screen, I for some reason are now unable to carry out these functions because the FMC is unresponsive
any thoughts thanks
Just to confirm that the Just Flight addon isn’t causing the issue, try uninstalling it and see if anything changes.
One thing to bear in mind, do not arm the spoilers in a Boeing before takeoff, unlike an Airbus.
Boeing spoilers will deploy if they are armed, and weight is on the landing gear.
The ILS radio in the Boeing 787 requires both a frequency and runway heading to be entered, it will not take just the frequency.
In Controls Options, when you click on “Search by Input”, and move your throttle, what command is displayed?
If you haven’t seen this, it may offer some help with the 787:
sorry about late reply been away from my desktop
I am airborne again thanks to you and PacificSet90456, and generally everything is working pretty well
my main problem was with the joystick & keyboard assigned buttons & keys being duplicated to more than one task which must have confused the issue and resulted in non operation of features
thanks again - appreciated
