Brief description of the issue:

For the third time in two weeks I am encountering the EncounterIO crash error.
It can happen to me during a flight after a maneuver, on the loading screen of a stage or in the main menu.
This is an error that I have never encountered before. I have a habit before loading the sim to restart the computer and not have anything in the background.
My computer is more than enough to run the program and until these recent errors I had no problems.
The video drivers are AMD Adrenalin Version 23.30.13.15, which I have been running since last December 7, that is, long before this error.
It has me baffled and I can’t find the reason.

Load the sim and fly
Eventually, the program remains with the background music on the screen, blocks all PC activities (it does not respond or CTRL-ALT-DEL to close the program) and suddenly the program closes or starts working again.

Many issues may be due to an outdated graphics card. Please state your Graphics Card Driver Manufacturer (NVIDIA, Intel, AMD) and Version (Learn how to find your current graphics card driver version):

AMD Adrenalin Edition 23.30.13.05 of december 07/2023 (not overclocked). Works OK in all other programs and games.

PC specs and peripheral set up:

AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12 core 24 Threads (not overclocked)
RAM 32G Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO (2 x 16G)
Mother MSI X570A Pro
Video MSI RX6700XT 12G

Just received this error again after enabling another freeware add-on. I’m not sure if it’s related.

Just like many of us I was also doing some technical upgrades to FS2020.
I installed NVidia Driver 551.23 (which feels really great btw) but I don’t think the error is driver related.

Like requested I’ve send a ticket to the support-desk. I hope they find a solution soon.

To the Admins: I know there is a ‘solution’ mentioned in post 4. But I’m not sure if you want us to keep informing you about the error through a new Ticket (every instance), or simply add a screenshot in this topic.

The same issue, the same procedure, start game and pop up appear
The game go to menu after a minute or two.

I just received this window as well. First time ever. I was loading Got Friends F4F and chose Renton field. Sim loaded and I was able to fly. I had left the pop up window in the background. Once done I exited the sim and window was one.

Interesting that the window says to contact Zendesk but no one there knows anything about it? LOL! Someone had to write the code for it. Windows just don’t randomly appear and state such things.

Yeah I’ve had this three times I think. I’m not sure what DoneIO is, but whatever it is, MSFS seems to be just fine without it. That or the error message is erroneous and DoneIO didn’t actually crash.

Hi, I had this error several times starting with SU14 during flying within Europe. It appeared and appears between 30 and 50 minutes after flying. The MSFS is quite new (re)installed and there is only Navigraph, FSLTL traffic, PMDG 737-700/800/900, vpilot and VSR installed. As all other users I ignored the message, the MSFS runs without any unusual issue. My flight are not longer than 90 minutes airtime.

I’ve had this message several times but yesterday after restarting the sim I got all notifications back and was changed to DX12 by itself… This is now the third time and not happy.

Got this message for the first time today. I thought it was suspect immediately. I’ve been flying MSFS long enough to know that if MSFS crashes, there is absolutely no way that Asobo is providing a specific cause and any sort of error handling or message, they don’t understand that concept.

I just closed immediately and the flight seemed to work fine. So bizarre. Leave it to MSFS to have this sort of insane issue.

…and again, just 10 minutes ago as I added new scenery and restarted the sim. I added many new items, so I’m not sure if there’s any correlation to any specific addon. I already wrote a ticket to Zendesk.

I get it almost every other time I use MSFS. I was getting it on my old PC with lots of addons. I got it on the first or second time using MSFS with zero addons on my new PC. Never saw any ill effects from it. Honestly, I just consider it normal now. If they fix it in SU15, that would be great, though. One less thing to close after a VR session.
